    training in a pool

Does training in water... the resistance the water gives... have any advantages? Like doing punches and kicks in a pool of course this is without a rubber duck floatation device....

I believe Van Damme does this in kickboxer - fully submerged in water.

He then goes to beat Tong Po in the final vale tudo style fight where they dip their hands in resin, then in glass.

Clearly it worked for Van Damme so it has to be a viable training method.

I personally can't think of any fighting advantage you would gain - unless you thought you would be fighting in water.

Could it be a good workout - sure - but to increase fighting ability - there are many other things I would have on my top 10 list.

just a thought, if you are training with apartner in a pool and the water gets warmer , it's not a good thing.

    Silliness my children!

AS the water is a thicker medium of which to pass through, you will need more energy attempting to move through it.

I can see footwork and foot speed inscreasing, but hand speed won't increase that much due to the fact that water doesn't give THAT much resistance.
