Former IFL heavyweight star, Ben Rothwell, will return to Affliction on August 1 to face up-and-coming Chase Gormley. The Vice President of Affliction Entertainment, Tom Atencio, informed FanHouse of the news at Wednesday's "Affliction: Trilogy" press conference in New York City.

Rothwell lost to Andrei Arlovski in the first Affliction show last July, but has since recorded a first round submission victory against Chris Guillen at Adrenaline MMA 2 in December.

Gormley is a perfect 6-0 in his young MMA career, however, he holds notable wins over Eric Pele and former EliteXC fighter, Jon Murphy.

Atencio also said that Brett Cooper and Deividas Taurosevicius will compete in separate bouts on the HDNet portion of the undercard. He added that he hopes to sign a suitable middleweight opponent for Vitor Belfort in the coming days, as well. Recent online rumors have pointed to American Top Team's Jorge Santiago as the man who will face Belfort on August 1.
