    Buy a gun vise! They don't break the bank (under $50) and they make working on a gun much easier. You should be careful, but aluminum is much softer than steel. These companies have pretty reasonable prices on shooting stuff.

    I've got a bore snake as well. I use it on my .45. Works fairly well.
