    knee drops

    anyone else here like them?

in modern mma there isn't much chance to use them now, but anyone still think them useful?
also, anyone sharing any personal variations, set-ups, etc would be sweet! ;)

    cheerz

I see them all the time usually it is a double knee drop off the 8 foot ladder , top rope , or from the CAGE OF DEATH .

I would suggest hitting them with a folding table and then some chairs to stun them . Elbows drops seem to be more popular tho . Maybe focus on those instead .
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

I broke a few of an inmate's rib with either body shots or by slinging him into a metal table and bench repeatedly . Of course I am sure I had a whole **** ton less paper work than you did , me and him where wearing the same type of clothes .

I fail to see how a knee drop is worth a **** on someone who is actively moving and defending himself .

If you can knee drop you should be able to get mount or a good position to control him .
    *edit*
Well since this is Strikeistan ... maybe some soccer kicks and stomps in order to keep from teh deadly grapple . Why stoop to their level (on the ground) when you are standing up ?

Unless I am thinking of a different "knee drop"

Exactly . Dude was already fucked , on the ground , unable to defend himself . Why not just soccer kick his face three or four time or stomp his skull flat if you are gonna do **** like that .
I mean I realize how it looks and all that ... but tactically I fail to see the advantage of the knee drop .

You wouldn't happen to know where the nunchuck felony fight went to do you ? It keeps getting removed and moved around .

We had a guy get a couple of cracked ribs from literally a 6-8" knee drop pretty much after he said "I don't understand why we are even doing this knee drop." and the instructor decided to show him.

Ok ... well apparently more than one person ...

    * shrug *

People throw spinning backfists with good success too ... so I guess it is just one of those techniques some people can make work .

It is just outside of my personal experience and goes against my instincts .
