    Hi

This is MABS, the serious forum for discussion. You need to go and read the stickies (they say Sevian READ ME) in this forum and then reconsider this post.

But, to answer your question, no I've never heard of him.

Grandmaster Abel Villareal, a 9th degree Black Belt, has been studying martial arts since 1960. He began studying Tae Kwon Do in Korea under the direct teachings of Tae Kwon Do creator General Choi
I'm not sure why he runs a Karate school, then. Maybe there is a Korean way of refering to tkd as Karate? Not sure.

Within his career Grandmaster Villareal also held the title of World Champion’ in Professional Kickboxing. He retired with a flawless record of 33 wins in 33 fights, all by knockout. He was the oldest Professional Kickboxer in the world still competing, often being almost twice the age of his fellow
    competitors.
YouTube - Grandmaster Abel Villareal - Villareal Karate Club - World Championship Winning Fight

No offence to the guy, but this doesn't look like a fight for the world championship, most likely the name of the competition/match?

He also mentions he was referenced by ESPN, but I searched thier site and came up empty, possibly removed.

His schools have produced more martial arts world champions than any other school in the world.
I would love to know who.

He is also mentioned here, about 3/4 of the way down under a photo

Why do you ask, what association do you have with this school?

Hmm, the rest of his Bio looks a little embellished as well.

It appears that he wrote a book about surviving terrorism.

Mr. Villareal has been mentioned once before on Bullshido by Richard Guerra. Go here to read the post.

I have some friends here in the Tae Kwon Do community. I will ask them about Mr. Villareal.

Look around a little bit more and let us know what else you find, have a try out class here and at other schools and see what you think and how the prices feel.
Dont feel pressured into joining, though, make sure you really want to attend.

I suggest you read the stickies in newbietown, as well, there may be some helpful hints.

Look at the post dates before you comment. It is 2011 and you are responding to a year old posts with zero information.

No, you haven't seen ALL of his accomplishments.
