That's what I'm talking about. As good as Alves' stand-up is his ground game off the charts.

    Karo has his hands full.

Are you saying Karo's "I did Judo all my life, you expect my boxing to be good?" windmill of doom isn't going to work?

    Hmmm...

Karo's striking actually looked a lot better against Burkman and Chonan. I doubt it'll be anywhere near as good as Alves', but it's a far cry from the windmilling haymakers he was throwing against Diaz.

You know, I'm not sure. I've only heard from guys who I hold in high regard, who have trained with him, that he is a beast on the mats. I think he may have his Brown from Liborio, but I'm not positive.

Last I checked he was a purple. Might be a brown by now, but I don't think he's a BB yet.

I remember watching some clip where he is doing bjj trainining for mma and his transitions and such are wicked. I had the impression he was already a bb...nevermind that! FIGHT NIGHT!!!

Here's a pic of Alves with Maximus and he is wearing a Brown. I don't know when the photo was taken though...

Cool! I need a Portuguese Top Team, but that's not gonna happen any time soon! No money to be made in Portugal when it comes to martial arts! And we have a lot of brazilians here because it's the same language and they use the country as a stepping stone to richer countries in Europe!
