    Hmmm, they can work if you're quick enough, defending from one isn't too tricky, stepping away tends to get you hit, its far quick to just slide in with a head cover and a punch them whilst still moving forward. Should generally cause them to fall over and look rediculous...

    Silly..unless the guy is on his knees and dazed. I do remember seeing some vid of a guy getting KO'd by one once though...

    Yeah, it's not a great kick unless you're good enough to make it work.

    I've seen Rick Rufus use it in a combo after feinting a low round kick.

    Good to impress judges. A good axe kick will hurt but will almost never KO your opponent, except if it lands on his nose maybe?

    I think it really comes down to high percentage vs. low percentage, and ...if someone is good enough to use an ax kick in a kickboxing match, they don't need to be asking on bullshido if it's a good technique.
