(for those who doubt that http://www.kyokushin.co.jp/eng/kancho.html first paragraph - Matsui started training in 1976 at 13 and achieved his 1st dan at 14 after 1 year)
This gentleman stayed with the same orginization. So, that speaks about his training. Your example is a person who started and stayed with the same org and teacher.

Coda gets blue disappears has a brown and suddenly a Black.

    Completely different scenarios.

Methinks this may be part of the root of the problem: Kinney Karate.

I wondered what authority, if any, these "certificates" were issued. Others answered "none" given no connection to the main TKD associations. Others have also noticed the hilarity of "Tae Kwon Do of Korean Origin."

    Me . . . I have been looking for Celtic Tae Kwon Do. . . .

"Soke's" webpage claims he combined Tang Soo Do, Aikido, and "Ju-Jitsu."

    Why does this read "familiar":

Grandmaster Michael Kinney received his fourth induction into the EUSA International Martial Arts Association “International Hall of Fame” on November 4th, 2000. At the awards banquet he also received his 10th Degree Black Belt Grandmaster certification.

Mr. Kinney’s system, Kinney Karate, was recognized as a unique style of Martial Arts, unlike any other. He was awarded his international “Soke (head of family)” title as a founder and and was entered in the EUSAIMAA worldwide registry. This is the highest attainable rank and recognition in the Martial Arts. Mr. Kinney is a Florida State representative of the Executive Advisory Committee of the EUSAIMAA.
Probably has a star named after him in the International Star Registry as well. . . .

    It gets even better:

Mr. Kinney first studied Ju-Jitsu and then Tang Soo Do in the suburban Maryland/ Washington D.C. area in the "sixties," and significantly influenced early development of the Martial Arts on the east coast.
This is where the Codas of the worlds are spawn.

    1. You got the wrong Kenny

    2. Dio and I are a part of the Kenny Karate Association more commonly referred to as the Wild Bunch. There may be some things in the org I disagree with, but I'll stand by it.

    3. As much fun as I made of the "TKD of Korean origin" bit, I was shocked and awed to see that my own TKD certs- while not looking anything like Coda's- also called it "TKD of Korean origin"- go figure.
