In the early days you had Jason DeLucia and Joel Sutton. I'm not sure what kinda Kung Fu stylist DeLucia was and I think Sutton did some kind of mantis. They did ok, Sutton won both his fights at UFC's 7 and 8. DeLucia lost to Gracie, but there's no shame in that.

DeLucia did 5-animals. I heard somewhere that he made friends with the Gracies, learned BJJ and is now apparently into trying to make Aikido work in an MMA context.

There's some MMA teams in China now, so maybe we'll see some Kung Fu/San Da fighters in major MMA federations soon. I think I said this in another thread but I'll say it again, I can see Pride jumping at the chance to promote some Chinese fighters. The Chinese-Japanese rivalry would be a HUGE money maker.

No we're not spearing to the eyes (not for awhile at least) although we will probably have strikes to the throat and neck.

This strike is different from a closed fist because the fingers are extended. They are not folded up like a palm heel, the whole hand is open. The strike can be delivered straight in, like you would a punch or in a downward swinging motion. The idea behind it I is to crush the nose and gouge the eyes at one time (theory) the strike makes little or not contact to the jaw.

I hope that answered your question.

Well, I would be careful with the 'spear hand' type stuff because there is more chance that you will damage your fingers than you hurt your opponent.

Good point Cullion. That is something that we will look into adding further down the road.
