anyone read about the "bat" type dumbell?

just dumbells eh? i've heard to argument that dumbells are just normally done in a linear fashion, ie back and forth and up and down, whereas some of the "other" ones use a circular motion to work the joints and muscles in a different way, get like 5lbs and do hand circles, i find those a bit more difficult than just curls....
