I don’t know much about her other than the funny stuff and a few interviews.

Based on what I do know if she was running instead of Hilary in 2016 I’d have expected her to win and would have thought it better than L’Orange.

Now he has had some time as president if she would do a better job or not (twitter aside) remains to be seen but still I think that “The Squad” and their enablers is a huge disadvantage to any democrat candidate and at some point somebody like Warren will need to bring them to heal in order to get back some centre ground and make America less crazy again .

I think the United States is much smarter than in 2016.

I could be wrong. I am about 2% of the time.

If America is smarter why is Kamela Harris still polling in the top four? She's basically Clayton Bigsby with tits.

The voting public was never the problem in 2016 it was the politicians.

I still see less than satisfactory evidence that your politicians are smarter now than they were in 2016.

The way to beat Trump is simple.

    Trump appeals to the right
    The left hates Trump already
Appeal to the center and you win.
Appeal too far to the left and you push the center to the right and lose (again).

    Thats it.

Well if this is the formula the Democrats have already lost. Their priorities are pronouns, wacko internet constructs, and mass hysteria over guns.

    Agreed but not 100%.

It is a matter of public opinion. If Trump's alienation of the rational middle is strong enough, then just about anyone could get elected.

Often extremist governments ride into power because their agenda's opposite number was itself an extreme form of government.

    Here's how that works:

    1. Government style A convinces the world that their most hated enemy is Government style B.

    2. Both begin to define themselves by what they oppose about the other government style. The USSR and Nazi Germany are famous examples. They made enormous hay out of what they considered their worst enemies were so that they could drive people away from supporting those ideas or even considering them.

    3. This strategy only works if Gov A keeps it's people satisfied with their performance. It also builds a ready to order stock of recruits for Gov B in the form of political subversives. In other words, the more people are disenfranchised by one system of government, the more they they sympathize with that governments biggest political foes. The USSR used this as the basis for agitprop around the world to gain power through the use of seductive sophistry.

    4. All that Gov B needs to ride into power is a large enough weakness in the popular support of Gov A. Look at Myanmar, Vietnam, Korea, China, Russia, Afghanistan, etc.

Political revolution is very hard to pull off against a stable government but creating instability is very easy.

I believe that Trump's cult of personality rhetoric lends itself perfectly to creating such an environment that does foster a similar kind of extremism on the left.

The rational middle is the glue that holds nations together but if they aren't vigilant enough or their hands are tied by putting out too many fires caused by the ruling government, then an extremist opposition could very well ride into power.
