    I'm not.

In my view both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party behave like cults and organized crime groups.

But, you strike me as socially liberal, with some fiscally conservative leanings as a business owner.

All said, the labels are often over simplified and used more for tribalism name calling than anything useful.

That's what I was thinking. To say you hate someone through and through without ever having a conversation with them is pretty weird. I wouldn't think you would hate someone that you don't know personally. There are lots of people who have said that after meeting with Trump, personally, behind closed doors, they really liked him.

I agree with Joe. Hate is a strong word especially when you have never even met the person you hate.

A kakistocracy is a system of government that is run by the worst, least qualified, and/or most unscrupulous citizens.[1][2] The word was coined as early as the seventeenth century.[3] It also was used by English author Thomas Love Peacock in 1829, but gained significant use in the first decades of the twenty-first century to criticize populist governments emerging in different democracies around the world.-Wikipedia

This is where we are at now.

Well, Joe's probably a better man than I am in that regard.

I have unwillingly been made aware of the limits of my character, so that's somewhere I can have consolation.

I'm socially liberal by a very strict standard. I want streamlined immigration with strict standards. I've got two naturalized US citizens working for me and they're good kids. One from Mexico and one from Fiji. I've also got a Dutch kid here on a marriage green card in the front room making sales, and that kid is dynamite. I mean slick and efficient and just plain nice to be around.

I believe a man should work hard and honest for a living, stand up for his family and friends and be a good neighbor. I'm really extra-Jesusy about it because I was raised in an extremely strict Southern Baptist household. I love the common man. The every day man is a good guy. Maybe not all that bright all the time, I know I'm sure as **** dumb as a door knob on most days but there's a basic standard of decency.

This guy offends those sentiments to my core. I believe in a traditional America with a non-traditional makeup. That kid from Mexico is training to be a pro-boxer, has an no-loss amateur record, goes to Mass every weekend with his sister and lives next door to his mom. He's never lied or stole or slacked off or missed a day in a year on the job. That kid from Fiji is new but he's earnest and hard working. They're blue collar family oriented Americans and I don't care one whit that they came here from somewhere else. They're legal and have all the virtues that I was raised to have. I can tell that none of you guys here are racists. Don't get me wrong. I don't project the problems I see with Trump onto rank and file conservatives.

I think I see it because I'm a suspicious type who was made sensitive to the appearance of wrongdoing by living by a strict standard from an old man shaped in a time and place that seems like it's long gone from America.

I don't really know what I'm trying to say here but these values that make conservatives aren't based on ethnicity or nationality. At least, they never were for me.

I don't want to sit here and virtue signal all day or humble brag. That's not what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm trying to give perspective to what offends me about the current occupant of the Oval Office. It's not just the social thing either. It's the way he disrespects every value. It's all of it. It's the way he refused to go out to the beach for the D-Day anniversary because he was afraid of his hair getting wet and showing his bald spot. It's the spray tan. It's the phony tough guy routine from a guy that's never took a punch in his life. It's the bad attitude. The nasty holiday messages. The bizarro nudie mag wife; little girls are supposed to look up to that? The cheating on his wife with porno-hookers; again, what the hell are kids supposed to think? Is that family values now? If a kid looks up the President's ex-girlfriend he or she is going to get an eye full of hardcore pornography.

And this doesn't matter anymore? There's no decency in the man whatsoever.

The Two Corinthians gaffe. The fact he was a democrat his entire life until he ran for office... those are the things about him that bother my conservative values.

And yes, that's all virtue signalling but if my conservative beliefs are in question, there you have it. I'm more liberal than a Franciscan priest but no where near as liberal as a Jesuit. I've rejected wacko Joel Olsteen and TBN set of evangelicals in name only as little more than cults being led by charlatans but I deeply sympathize with the true believers because they interpret their own values independent of what their mega church tells them to believe.

I'm not a Christian but I gave the sermon at my grandfather's funeral anyway because that's what my grandfather wanted. I stood in front of a congregation, gave a sermon on the beatitudes from the book of Matthew, led a prayer to a God I didn't believe in for the benefit of my family, and decided I'd never do something like that again for any reason. It was wrong on several levels. But I don't think Trump could spell beatitudes, much less give even one of them without someone passing him a note.

I think if whoever winds up debating Trump in the next election actually presses him on Conservative values and outflanks him on that, then he will come unglued and rant like a wild man.

Trump has no conservative values. He parrots talking points that he thinks are important but if Joe [edit: Biden], a good Catholic boy, knows his bible as well I do, then he could craft an evangelical mega church pastor's worst nightmare at the stand.

Trump is faking it and doesn't care or know one whit about conservative values. He's an empty hack.
