British wrestling - Wildcats wrestling club manchester

I've been thinking about posting about this after the short lived wrestling in the UK thread a few months ago.

I want to put this info up because I'm getting the feeling that the now private y club that the wrestling club calls home is wanting to push the traditional sports clubs out to replace them with what ever gimmicky fitness crap is popular this month.

With the wildcats wrestling club being as far as I can tell the best and most active (they host the british championships) freestyle and greco-roman wrestling club in the uk. It would be a sad loss of history (I'm probably being melodramatic)

So I'm going to compile some of the historical banners that one day may get taken down and put some other bits of info here. Hopefully this may also lead some people to the club too as it isn't very well advertised.

Now I just need to work out how to upload or embed pictures on this forum.

On the mean time I'll put up some links to a couple of the notable members.

Fitz Lloyd Walker- Probably the most accomplished and longest standing member, still teaches.

Mo Osman - Presently one of the coaches. And probably the reason why it's the best club in Manchester. Can't find cast iron evidence of it (Maybe some of our wrestler bullies would know where to look) bit my judo instructor said he came 7th and the world champion once. All I can find is reference to the commonwealth games.

Sorry "he came seventh at a world championships". According to my judo coach. I'll have to ask him directly at some point.

I was typing that out on my phone on the bus and didn't proof read that very well.

Okay found some actual results now I've looked around a bit and my coach must definitely have heard wrong. That is from the united world wrestling website. Still one of the better wrestlers in Britain but that doesn't count for much on the world stage.

Although looking at his world championship performance his first match was against a guy who ended up as a triple gold Olympic medallist and 6 time world champion so he was **** out of luck there.

Okay enough rambling to myself I'll update this If i get any more interesting historical info about the club.
