Curious to see if Weidman can get back on the horse.

For those who missed the event

I can't believe they threw Lewis in there so soon after barely making it past Volokov and after he said he wasn't ready.
Fu Hung Hsieh remains Fu Hung Hsieh and Kung-tzu Yu remains Kung-tzu Yu.

Just watched it all now via Tivo. It's on at oh-my-word, early o'clock at this end. So, minor thoughts.

Arce v Moraes. What was Yves Lavigne thinking? Was he thinking at all?? Bizarre that he would let it progress as it did. There was a clear case for calling it off and declaring it a Tech Draw. The bleeding from two places - including down his Back - meant that Moreas should not have been forced to engage. It only offered ammunition to those opposed to MMA and Lavigne allowed them that card to play. The canvas looked like a Jackson Pollock canvas. Ridiculous not to stop it. Nothing would have been lost by a Tech Draw.

Knight v Rinaldi. The Cornerman urging "Finish him!" to Knight. A useless exhortation, in the corner you're supposed to provide technical advice, support - and if so, lie to your charge if necessary but never at his/her expense. They need to be protected from their own Courage. "Finish him!", yeah, well Coach, give me a clue on how to go about it. Joe's commentary "Stay on your feet", yeah, obvious to all of us watching. Add something we can't see for ourselves if you're going to take money to be a commentator. Oh, one request please, less of the Jehovah's Witness stuff. Keep God personal and save it for home and church. Thank you.

Jack Marsham sporting a Para Regt tattoo. Noted. Good performance but Karl Roberson better.

Adesanya was impressive. Very fluent movement and very good striking. Doing well.

Weidman had the beating of Souza until he got caught by the punch high on the Forehead, slightly off centre. That probably concussed him and explained his grasping for the ankle of Jacare. Natural fighting instinct and the sense of survival kicking in. Great contest and commendable behaviour by Jacare knowing that Weidman was largely defenceless owing to concussion. He just didn't know where he was - nor did Dan Mirgliatta, Souza was correct to verbally rebuke the Ref. At least one of them knew the reality of it.

Excellent work by Daniel Cormier, playing to his strengths against a huge Derrick Lewis. The latter showing an excellent high kick to the Head of Comier; great flexibility for such a Big Man. Great result for the Champ.

Cormier isn't the most exciting fighter at times, but he is solid. His dominating, wrestling was put on display for this match. Good on him for not trying to just stand and bang.
