do u think you would get like cross train weapon mma style
i do Hema, Kendo, Fencing when i can priming leg problems, but when sparring we get cross over of and mix of tec and styles thown into sparring from various people styles they trained in.

The dog brothers tried to pitch stick fighting to the UFC in the late 90s and got rejected because it was too brutal. I think you might enjoy M-1 Mideval fights.

The weapons portion of such a fight would only be a gimmick. It would basically be MMA. The thing is to make the weapons non-lethal you have to nerf them significantly and at that point you make them useless. Most fighters could eat a few hits and just rely on their groundwork.

what if u had just like padding
eg fencing jacket saves the being nerf like
still hurts but reduces leatheness of hit

Huh, actually quite harmless compared to normal MMA.

Long weapons are at a disadvantage at short distance due to leverage. Anything less than a potentially lethal strike could be absorbed long enough to close distance. The main problem is any weapon that is in any way substantially more powerful than what a trained human could generate is going to be too dangerous to use. Anything less would be mostly useless since it could be walked past to close range. It's a fun gimmick, but a gimmick none the less.

    Hmm.

Choosing the sparring weapon or its material might be a little difficult. Most safe material would reduce the weapon's effectiveness to a point where the impact force would not be enough to stop someone, while other materials would be too lethal to be used in full contact sparring since even a shinai is enough to give someone bruises. And imagine someone with rattan sticks going up against someone who has a halberd. Rules are going to be another issue.

How do you determine when the fight is over?

Rules in weapon sparring are hard to establish. The "first person to hit wins" rule in fencing guides fighters into focusing only on hitting the opponent first and ignoring their defence which resultes in very short bouts and rounds ending with double strikes which is unacceptable in a real weapon fight. A way to solve this problem would be to let both fighters fight for a while and determine the winner by comparing the number of blows landed.
