Well, yeah, of course they did. It's a huge mess of a job to do well. First, they have to define "hate", etc...

Once upon a time the NRA fought FOR gun bans and stringent laws. The bigger media has become, the more the old fashioned phrase "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" has become common place. They make more noise and fear-monger now, to compete with the fear mongering from the other side.

I honestly believe there are more people in the middle, but they aren't allowed to voice their opinions properly.

Meh article, but a quick read for you to go research yourself.

It's an idea and you can't ban an idea no matter how hard you try.
No but you can remove a product from the market, which makes it a black market item, which makes tracking them a great way to catch criminals.

    So, umm, this allegedly happened:

Synopsis: Facebook "muscled" the New York Times into removing parts of a story that Facebook considered unfavorable.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Facebook frankly does some really shady stuff, and can be quite weirdly activist in what they allow and don't allow to be posted. Only then to go all nuts when people demonstrably point it out. So if the NYT was doing that, and Facebook actually had leverage to apply, I have no problem believing that they would apply it.

Does it count as censorship though? Sure I'd be happy if all the various extremist groups were banned from YouTube, Apple, Facebook ect. However, they aren't. Those that cost those corporations money are shut down. That isn't censorship, that is simply business practice. If Alex Jones really does have the number of followers that he claims, let him but a Glen Beck and start up his own subscription service news program. Now if the government came in and shut down Glen Back, that would be censorship. For profits corporations deciding that an individual is costing them profits and thus breaking contacts with them isn't censorship, it is a business decision.

Does it count as discrimination when Facebook Youtube Apple don't hire minorities?
