Baltimore Cops Carried Toy Guns to Plant on People They Shot, Trial Reveals

"One officer involved in the city's massive corruption scandal said officers kept the replicas "in case we accidentally hit somebody or got into a shootout, so we could plant them.""

    https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/8...-reveals-vgtrn

I saw this headline and quote kicking around over the weekend but I hadn't really caught the context of which this tidbit existed in and honestly kinda blew it off. I should have paid attention.

HOW A CORRUPT BALTIMORE POLICE TASK FORCE TAINTED THOUSANDS OF CASES
    https://news.vice.com/en_us/article/...sands-of-cases

The article(s) are well worth the read.
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

My guess is this is a more wide spread problem than just Baltimore, but they were dumb enough to get caught. Something something about absolute power corrupting.

Things like this are why the Dumbest Post Award will soon be known as the Bnet Trophy.

I don't recall a post-mortem discussion, bit I suspect there was a disinclination towards voting for somebody who had been run off the board. The previous year was more of a hall of fame vote.
