I am actually looking forward to this one.
Mostly because I like Ortega, and I don't think Cub "better win" this one.
Ortega is undefeated, young and hungry; with a jiu-jitsu pedigree that is second to none.
Now, this IS a step up in competition for him, but to me, Ortega is the one that "better win" as he will not be able to get a title shot anytime soon unless he does.

Cub better win for me so sick of established guys being made into gate keepers by up and comers. A second look I have 50/50 interest in this one about half of the names I'm interested in.
Fu Hung Hsieh remains Fu Hung Hsieh and Kung-tzu Yu remains Kung-tzu Yu.

But the established guys ARE gatekeepers for the up and comers.
That is the nature of the game.
In the long run, everyone in that cage has an expiration date. Be it a certain birthday, a certain number of fights, or a certain number of strikes or injuries sustained.

The only way to stay on top is to be able to beat every young, hungry, kid that has spent years studying what you do that comes along.
Eventually, you fail at this or get tired of doing it, or both, and retire. Hopefully with some money in your pocket.

Brian Ortega is that young, hungry kid, and Cub Swanson is that older veteran who wants to stay on top, or at least in the top 5.
For me, I don't think Cub has enough left in him to beat Ortega if they both go in with top conditioning and few to zero injuries, but that is not how this game works. They will go in with whatever shape they are in on fight day, and we will just have to see how it goes.

Giles got it started with a late 3rd round KO after an action packed back and forth. Ramos then finishes in the 3rd with a RnC if the pre prelims are any indicator this should be a good bout. I'll have to finish it tomorrow but so far so good.
Fu Hung Hsieh remains Fu Hung Hsieh and Kung-tzu Yu remains Kung-tzu Yu.

Ok. Left this for long enough so spoilers shouldn't be an issue.
I want to come right out and say congrats to Ortega for doing what I thought he would from the beginning.
That young man is going to be the 145lb champion pretty soon if he keeps this up.
