None of this is addressing my original question. Why are the free market republicans supporting this??

High tech companies would get massive incentive packages to open wafer fabs (where silicon chips are made) all throughout the 1990s. I, and many friends, worked in places that got incentives.

Sadly, it's how business is done all too often. I've even seen companies play cities off each other to get more incentives, kinda like NFL owners looking for the sweetest stadium deals.

Not defending it, but it does create jobs and thus revenue on the back end. Taxpayers can only hope they get more on the back end than what they gave away as incentives.
If it weren't for "incentives", and an not-so-free market, Mexico would have a lot more industrial/manufacturing plants than it already has, which is too many.

Which billionaires? And so, if they get a few thousand long-term good jobs with benefits for people for the 3 billion (plus other peripheral economic benefits), and investors make money, what's so bad about that ?

This is how the game is played, companies shop around for best deal they can get in a place with the type of workers they need, among other things I'm sure.

Not saying it's the best or only way. Can you propose an alternative ?

I'm waiting for you to admit that the republicans don't actually care about capitalism.

Because you don't really understand economics? Because there is really no such thing as a "free market", just like there is no such thing as "social justice"?

Sure can, invest that money in local communities instead. Why are republicans are ok with tax dollars going to rich CEO'S, but not the actual citizens which actually would benefit the state?? We both know the answer I just want you to admit it.

Bullshit excuse. The republicans campaign on an idea they don't believe in or really want.

You support an economic plan that has been proven not to work over and over and yet you say I don't understand economics.
