Looks like something positive came out of all the hullabaloo.

    Nice for a change...

Tempted to pick one of these up just to see how easy it is to do.
Of the single rapier fight between valiant men, having both skill, he that is the best wrestler, or if neither of them can wrestle, the strongest man most commonly kills the other, or leaves him at his mercy.

$120 for the dvds or $190 for the dvds + online stuff. I wonder if they do group discounts?

I have access to the DVDs through a BJJ lending library I am a member of. But more than that, I have access to people that still teach self defense JJ.
Though they might be a bit insulted if I picked up a Combatives Belt from someone else, not entirely sure on that.
It would just be interesting to see how easy it is to get.

Easy, hard, is not the point.
They want you and everybody else to practice the moves designed for if someone comes up to you on the street,
Puts you in a headlock and starts punching you in the face.
Or if someone is striking you from the mount or top guard position.
Making sure folks have options and trained responses from those situations is beneficial.
You will get out of it what you put into it.
I would get something out of electively going through their program,
And I have done those drills for over 20 years,
There are some things I elect to emphasize more and some less because I also have a background in wrestling, Judo, and Boxing.
But, the idea of drilling self defence scenarios that may occur off mat and from people that may try to strike you, poke you in the eye, headlock you or do other common streetfight scenarios is very sound, especially for players that are actually interested in self defence.
I frankly routinely still sprinkle self defense into every class I teach unless we're prepping someone for a specific tournament and there is no time.

If the techiques are solid, does it matter if they are easy?

Indeed. I thought that was kind of the point, that it is supposed to be simply and direct, so that anyone could learn effective self-defense without having to be an Olympic athlete to do it.
