If I'm using the old style plates with a lip on one side, flat on the other, the lip absolutely must be facing inward to the center of the bar. Flat side out!

Whenever I do cleans or deadlifts, I hike up my shorts off my thighs. Like pull the bottoms up until I'm daisy-duking it for a split second until I start my reps and the legs of the shorts drape back down to the proper spot. I have no idea why or when this started, but I have to do it.
