    Does this look staged?

Sorry, thought this was in YMAs. Indeed, awesome move, though indeed a bit reminiscent of mambo dancing. :)

I've never witnessed anything like it, but considering the number of judo competitons that take place all around the world each year I'm not entirely surprised when a little craziness strikes.

    Doesn't look staged.

Genki Sudo has been known to centrifuge his opponents to the mat.

I don’t believe for one second this is staged. This looks like an IJF competition and within the video you see what looks to be an IJF referee intently looking at the match.

Not staged. I saw original video on JF a while back. I was just some some guy getting outclassed and outmuscled in (I think) an open weight division.

Definitely not an amazing judo throw...would it even have a name in Kodokan?

Easy to do if there is a weight disparity between two people, which there probably was.

Male ice skaters do this with their female partners all the time.

    On ice. With skates.

If this is a judo comp, their weight should be comparable, no?

with compliant partners. Not really comparable. Never seen an ippon happen from this position:
