    Welcome to Bullshido.

I thought I spelled it wrong, but as I said I'm a mechanic not an English professor.

Personally, combat sambo is nonexistent where I'm at, and I'd be quick to jump on the opportunity assuming that the legitimacy of the school can be verified. You may one day decide to crosstrain in some extra striking (I'd recommend boxing with it) but if it's actually combat sambo it's damn near the complete package, and definitely a great place to start.

As a general rule I'd recommend crosstraining, and BJJ/Muay Thai is a combo that's hard to go wrong with. Maybe someone from your area can give you specifics on the actual gyms, but it all sounds like it'd be worth checking out.

SAMBO is in large part based on Judo which at its very heart is designed with the concept of a smaller person being able to use leverage to subdue a large opponent.
So I am going to say you will be fine especially if your at 175 lbs.

And just because you like MMA doesn't mean everyone else will.

But being that Combat SAMBO now officially sucks balls, yes, I'd recommend going down and checking out Randy Palmer's gym. Based entirely on website, they look legit.

SAMBO is a combination of Judo and various wrestling practices/traditions from Russia, Mongolia, the Ukraine, Georgia and more.

I happen to train regularly with the owner of Monolith. He is also on Bullshido under the username blackmonk. I will tell him about this thread, and he can answer any questions you have regarding Monolith or questions about his SAMBO classes.

He is a very committed teacher/student of SAMBO, Judo and BJJ, but especially SAMBO.
Shut the hell up and train.

Only an idiot would endorse Combat SAMBO.
