Though after all this time I am not sure if anyone really cares.
Of the single rapier fight between valiant men, having both skill, he that is the best wrestler, or if neither of them can wrestle, the strongest man most commonly kills the other, or leaves him at his mercy.

I don't think anyone cared much at the time of the OP. Not charging for lessons heads off all the McDojo/DairyKwoon/Rip Off Merchant lines. The OP reads, to me at least, to be about a lineage enquiry.

    TL;DR

_ing _un lineage. No one cares.

yeah we charge club fees in our organization, but its in our bylaws to never charge enough to make an income from teaching. Nor will we charge for belt testing fees, its not in my benefit to promote you or keep you at a rank. It's felt that when you do it as a business, then the pressures of keeping and maintaining said business overshadows adherence to standards.

Welcome to Bullshido. Within the MABS forum we ask for posters to contribute a little more than that or not post. Other sub forums like YMAS and General BS are more relaxed in the posting guidelines.

I received my instruction beginning in 1982, and started teaching in 1986 after receiving a rank of 6th level Practitioner.
And in 2016 he's still a 6th level pract. (according to his website which looks like a 1990s geocities site)
