Answering your unspoken question, because it's fun and quite stylish. Also, the ringpiece count is low.

    ^^That is a great advert!

I love swords. I have 15-20 of them, most of them being cheesy 440 steel. I have one that is decent, and I will be getting a Cold Steel sword before the Zed strike.

On a related note, my dad asked if I wanted to buy a Cold Steel Norman sword for $100. He somehow ended up with this thing in a surfboard trade or something. $400 on their site. Been considering it...

$100 is a great deal for an almost battle ready sword that cleaves porcine corpses in twain! I have been looking at their Bastard Sword (hand and a half) or the Warrior Series Katana. I have seen them take some serious abuse and they stand up very well. I have a few of their knives and have been impressed so far.

Depending on how you use the sword I'd bet dollars to donuts it can stop an attacker with fairly monotonous regularity. I think this would apply to most devices that can crush bones or sever limbs with one strike.

Great vid. I wonder if any one handed sword even comes close.

Obviously a large two-handed sword like a claymore has more momentum than a lighter blade, but a sidesword should cleave human flesh with superb ease. I didn’t find the video all that impressive, for that matter; that meat didn’t look like it even had bone in it. Better (and a lighter blade, to boot):

And that’s not getting into cleaving blades like falchions.
