    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Who cares?

I am riggerreed, but call me Brian. Or Sally. Or Petunia.

Too old to start this BJJ stuff now, but here I am. Jesus.

Be gentle, and remember that sand is not a lubricant even if it looks like ball bearings up close.

    Bear, thanks for the welcome.

I'm 41 recently (so yes, uh, a "young" 41...as opposed to an old 41 which I guess is what I'll be before I'm 42...anyway...)

Why BJJ? Because getting punched in the face all the time seems to not be the thing to do. Mostly, I think it's the transitioning; where you are right now won't be where you are in about 10 seconds possibly. Maybe you have my back, but I think I can try (blank) and change that.

Plus I have two kids, and when they run in and tackle you, you're going to the ground no matter what. It's pure survival on the playground.

Hi riggereed, I am a mature warrior like yourself (40)
Maybe we should get an 'Old Farts' group together, talk about prostrate exams, erectile dysfunction and that kind of thing ;)

Remember what we lack in youthfull vigour we make up for in guile and cunning...we made it this far after all.

Suck it up old cranky people. There's older, crankier, creakier people than you. 40's is young. If you don't start training now, your kids are going to grow up and LEAVE YOU IN THE DUST. Don't you want to keep up with them for at least a bit longer?

I'd pay good money to train with either of them. Hell, I'd pay good money to sit down and have a chat with either of them.
I do not aspire to be great, or even good, I hope to suck a little less then last class.

Actually, it seems that BJJ is a reasonable excuse for a man my age to roll around on the ground with other adults and not be looked at strangely.

What? No, I don't discuss my BJJ outside of Bullshido, or my school. Why do you ask?

Hey Piz, my kids already leave me in the dust. I'm just looking to keep that gap as small as possible. Besides, we ain't supposed to get to the grave in pristine condition anyway, right?

Also, I still ride kids bikes anyway. BMX, yo!

I think Patfromlogan is the oldest. I'm older than you two but I'm not complaining. I still rough up the youngsters.
