Just to chime in and echo what some others have mentioned, as someone who originally came up through the "traditional" BJJ system and has also...

    Thanks for the report ya
  2. Awesome. From what I know our gyms are friendly with each other (which is good, I have no time/interest in petty gym feud crap). I'd definitely be interested in seeing the space.

I'm thinking about going to the sub hunt to watch/cheer though so I'll definitely let you know if I do.

That's a bummer dude, and yeah that is a hell of a distance, I don't blame your going to Top Team.

Oh I see, yeah gotta be super ready for the sub hunt. A lot of people coming and bringing the a-game. If you ever feel like going to MMAA lemme know dude, i'll try to show up to either morning or evening class. Or if you change your mind about Subhunt = )
  4. I wanted to check out the MMAA but seeing as how I work in Eagan and live in S. St. Paul, it was just too far. It's too bad because they have some studs training there. How long have you been out there?

The Top Team gym is a little under the radar but just expanded next door so we have a dedicated grappling space. I'm not quite ready for the submission hunt but I'm pretty positive some of our guys are going. Once I have a couple more months I would definitely think about competing.

Greg Nelson/Sean Sherk's place, Minnesota Martial Art Academy in Brooklyn Center. It is a tad out of the way but I have alot of respect for Nelson so I dont mind the drive, unless its that killer morning traffic. Thats crazy, I never knew about that place but it has some very serious coaches. You plan on doing the MN submission hunt next month?
  6. I train out at the Minnesota Top Team gym in Eagan under Paul Petushin. I checked out a couple of other places but wasn't sold, or they were just way out of my part of town. Where are you at?

Always good to keep active, if I don't I feel like **** throughout the day. Where do you train BJJ if you don't mind me asking? If it's Nelson's I prob know you.
  8. Yeah, always nice to wake up to rain, and then suddenly it transfers to snow/sleet. At least I can go to the gym after work today and run around there rather then just being cooped up inside.
