I'd like to see if there is any evidence involding the bouts/fights that Morihei Ueshiba had with Judoka , Karateka , wrestlers , boxers etc . I have read about these fights in Aikido books but never read of specifics . Who did he fight ? When ? How old was he at the time . How good were his opponents

This thread has pretty much run its course, but we know many of his early students were highly accomplished in other (sparring) arts and yet still held Ueshiba in very high regard. Whatever Ueshiba eventually became as an old man or who he actually sparred is a fairly moot point. He was accepted by the top Japanese martial artists at the time as one of the best, and I think it is fair to trust their judgment as we cannot go back in time. MTripp could have ripped apart aikido in many ways but I'm going to give the ippon to Des. and DCS.

    DCS
Tl;dr. More muppets and song numbers needed.

    You've caught my curiosity.

How do you handle being accurately informed that you're position is wrong when informed of such to your face?

Plasma and Der do not waste you time with Kraik. Basically, he insults Throw Downs and now is telling you to go to one. He has found the TMA forums and is beginning to post nonsense.

I would recommend reading the entire thread.

I do not fight people over intellectual debates. It solves nothing. I have not insulted Tripp, or threatened him.

Fighting Tripp would prove nothing for either of us other than who is the better fighter, and I am willing to say that it would likely be Tripp.

Even if he is a better fighter than myself, I would still say, to his face, that he is wrong. The validity of my statements in this thread, and the critiques of his arguments, stand irregardless of my own fighting ability. They are based on actual research, quoted material, and logical inference. Tripp could pound me to a pulp and choke the shit out of me...and I would still be right.

Or vice versa, I could defeat him, and it wouldn't matter, except the fact that I had won a fight, and an argument. There would be no causal relationship between the two events.

This is why I say I do not understand Tripp's comments on anyone saying anything to his face. If my arguments are logical & researched, what reason do I have for not saying them to his face?

Okay, I apologise for my previous remark. I guess you're the moderator, and you know what's best.

Tripp, at no point have I insulted youm What I have told you is that you were wrong. I provided evidence which you didn't bother to research. DCS showed how you conpletely misquoted Ellis Amdur.

I would say this to your face without any hesitation. I fail to see why you find that insulting, or why you think I wouldn't say it to your face. Is there something about you that makes you any more beyond reproach than any of the rest of us? Is there something about you that allows you to spout bullshit and not get called on it?

Having just finished Ellis Amdur's book on the subject, "Hidden In Plain Sight", I think that this might be a good book to recommend to you if you have an interest in Ueshiba Sensei's training methodology and the people with whom he trained with and under.

The people with whom I spoke to on the subject who had actually trained w/ Ueshiba Sensei all said he was, even in his old age, a very strong and effective martial artist. They never spoke of him ever doing anything superhuman.
