Opinions vary wildly on how effective Mr. Lee actually was as a fighter because there is no video evidence, no boxing record, nothing to provide actual physical evidence of his fighting prowess other than testimonials from his own students/family. We may not have video evidence of him fighting, but we have the testimony of great fighters, such as Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis, who both hold that Bruce was the man, incredibly fast and very, very skilled. Also, we have his students who are also VERY SKILLED, such as Guro Dan Inosanto among others.

Personally, I think anyone that compares Bruce Lee to Robert Bussey, in any capacity, is an idiot. Just me...

FYI, the "harder" Takamatsuden styles (Genbukan, Jinenkan) are both training the way that Hatsumi-sensei and the Bujinkan used to train. Anyone Bujinkan can take it to that level, can cross train with resisting opponents from other styles, etc. I think that EVERYONE that trains Booj SHOULD train hard, against resisting opponents, and should cross-train. It should be compulsory.

Oh, & anyone that thinks that omote gyaku and the lunge punch is the core of the Bujinkan is a fucking idiot and is simply parroting other uninformed idiots.

Bruce Lee didn't actually fight. We refer to people who fought in actual fights as fighters. Simon Byrne was a real fighter, even though he lived rather longer ago than the 70's (by over a century). Bruce Lee, meanwhile, trained in martial arts, but never fought, and as mentioned easlier, Joe Lewis, a fighter who trained with Lee, said explicitly that Lee was not a fighter.

I suppose there seems to be a fundamental difference beetween what is considered to be an effective fighter. What I believe is that Bruce Lee, and yes Robert "I growl like a monster" Bussey could more than likely kick the asses of just about everyone in here. The fact is that most fights in this world, don't happen in a ring, but in the school yard because some fuck stole your milk money. In that regard, Bussey would fuck us all up. Now then with that said, if we were to have a homoerotic fisting contest, many of you guys would fair quite nicely.... the same cannot be said for spelling contests.
