I think I nearly coughed up a lung with this. Christ, whatever do Kenpo people do when they aren't fighting living mannequins?
And LARRY! Where was your mullet!???? I was worried there for a second. And where do you get your "speed"!? It's mind-boggling. Such power should not be possessed by a mere mortal.

Originally posted by Omega the MercilessI thought it was pretty cool and I don't even do kenpo. Laugh if you want guys, it was only for show. We could have the same discussion with MT, MMA, or BJJ if they put on a demo.
edit* oh yeah, that, and none of those moves work ;)

In Kajukenbo we trained roundhouse kicks against cinder block walls in order to learn "control," (no touch), and we also put on gloves and went as hard as one wanted to. I learned to place my kicks very prescisely, in and of itself, and without learning movement from sparring, that's not good for much. But I did end a situation once by shooting my big toe into a guy's solar plexis. He was certainly impresssed."Preparing mentally, the most important thing is, if you aren't doing it for the love of it, then don't do it." - Benny Urquidez

No, flailing your arms in a standup exchange, leaving yourself widely exposed doesn't work. And only seemingly capable of executing such acts of flash and finesse on people who serve as lunge punching crash dummies doesn't help ones argument either.

1) Go back to watching Scrubs, or
2) Pay your way to Hawaii and drag you to a Kaju school and have them beat your head.
It's up to you, dude, your sad history with Ke?po should stand aside from rationality."Preparing mentally, the most important thing is, if you aren't doing it for the love of it, then don't do it." - Benny Urquidez

2) I already have/do trained with Kaju folks. What do they have to do with Tatum LARPing?
In response to your prior post, you say schools put out great fighters and they never spar. How do you know they are great fighters if they don't fight? Or do they compete in kickboxing or MMA bouts? I don't judge skill based on compliant demonstrations. Anyone can put on an impressive show. It's quite another thing to actually put it into use.
I guaran-damn-tee that if I ever were to spar/fight with someone who trained such techniques as in that video, whether I won or not, they would not use what they practice.
