Hi. You are reading an archive of the legendary Bullshido forums, from 2002-2020. Please visit our NEW and (arguably) improved forums at https://forums.bullshido.net.
(Or don't, this is just an announcement and nobody's holding a gun to your head.)
I can see that you are falling back on the same tired old argument of "t3h r34l". Everything we have seen wasn't the real bujinkan, and the stuff you are doing is the real bujinkan.
who did you train with in bujinkan? have you ever been to japan?
do you know who Toshiro Nagato is?
and yes...not that it matters....i have a 2nd Dan in Judo, and i most likely would have had a blackbelt in BJJ if i stuck with it.... but i dont think that really matters....

It matters because you brought it up to support your contention that bujinkan is the rox0r.

What ou might have had counts for nothing. What did you rank within BJJ before giving it up. Also, could you provide a bit more information about your competative record so it can be verified?
So if someone doing BJJ and judo then turning to ninj3rism is proof that ninjeriskm is better, can that proof be cancelled out by someone giving up the ninj3rism for BJJ and Judo?
just because there are lung punches doesnt mean u cant catch them, sure our art has lunge punches but we have defenses against jabs too, i asked my instructor and he showed us defenses against jabs that work really well, anyways you'll see more hooks/haymakers in a real fight rather than a straight punch, and since u can see a hook from a mile away u can do the technique easily.
even Hatsumi says...go do what you want.....if you want to train in another art than go do that.
i dont consider myself to be an expert in any martial art, my rank is not important even if i was a master of BJJ or Judo...
i dont keep track...its just a sport, and that was a long time ago. sorry...of course I'm sure you already think i'm full of it..after all i could be a 8 yrs old girl from clevland posting whatever i want on here......
O by the way...can you tell me why Jigoro Kano developed the techniques the way he did?
why are the techniques of Judo done the way they are?
NUFF SAID! unless your fooling yourself...
i am not saying Bujinkan is the ultimate art ever and that i am a ninja!!!!!!
but it seems you guys have a hard on for your arts..and for whatever reason like to waste yourtime bashing on other arts...this is not the sign of a true martial artist.
pf course you could be a 15yrs old little fairy girl with nothing else better to do with your time then post stuff on forums.....
can we try to take a logical approach/ intelligant debate and speak without all the the F'n BS???? or is that too mature for you to do as such the great martial artists you think you are?
rather i'd like to hear what you think bujinkan phylosophy/ or your own arts phylosophy on fighting and explain your point......
reptileddp, it has been explained to death. The answers won't change for the questions don't change. Why do you bother to post in this forum? If you want different answers for the same questions, post in a different forum.
FilipinoNinja, there's a defense against jabs in boxing too, it's called "keep your hands up" or something like this. I'd really like to test this out but I guess we won't meet anytime soon. Could you post a video of these techniques?

Oh fer fuckin cry'in out loud, enough with the gawdamn " bujinkan doesn't really suck" shit already!
As pretty much a whole, I'd say 90% (probably more), the folks in the bujinkan wouldn't know how to deal with a good solid hit, or someone actually going all out on them.
The reason is because most, not all, don't have a history of good, solid hard training and pressure testing.
They see the senior shihan making the stuff look effortless, and then they go and try to copy it and pass is off as "the real stuff" with out ever having tried it against someone who is resisting.
This leads to mass cultism, coupled with jackasses running around with a ninja mask on, and you have most, not all, of the MA community thinking the Bujinkan is a joke.
Whats worse is there is at least a couple of generations of practicioners out there that are passing it on, in other words there is zero quality control.
There are a few people out there who do pressure test on a regular basis and who have no illusions about what they are doing.
So you you have used your stuff for real? Great AND GOOD!
NOW GO AND SPREAD THE GOSPEL TO THE MASSES AND SQUARE THEM AWAY!
Stop this ridiculous " I am a 20th century ninja practicioner " fucking horseshit.

i was hoping to see a little more intelligance from this website...saw some stuff i liked/ found interesting...and i liked watching the videos...i just have some free time right now....
i dont really post anything on any forum...dont usually waste my time with it...i guess this is a waste too....too many computer geeks with nothing better to do than bash others...
but if i find some interesting cinversation as i proposed it would be a good time killer talking with others about MA...
I thought I would way in on this topic, as it is one I have a personal interest in being a Bujinkan practitioner.
I hate to say it, but most of the misconceptions people have about the art are true, and guess what? It's the fault of the way the art is presented by most teachers, and the "Asian secrets myth" that we in the west like to believe. The idea that the 90 lb weakling can learn some super secret techniques and beat up that rapist, mugger or street fighter.
Is the problem with the art alone? No, I feel most of the blame lies with the way it is taught, and trained. Boxers don't just hit air for hours to learn how to recieve and give punches. They dont stage elaborate dances of punches back and forth to learn either. They learn the basics, and then hit bags and then move on to gloving up.
I have more thoughts on the issue, but I'll save them for a later post, as I have to get up really early for PT in the morning.
If you are a Bujinkan guy, train realistically. Hit a bag with real intention, and condition yourself. Spar against people outside of the art. It is a MARTIAL art right? Train as if it really meant something besides in the limited scope of your dojo.
