The Fight Shorts:
The easiest way to describe these shorts are to compare them to the same quality shorts. Those of you who have tried the new Sprawl shorts (grip flex series) with the stretch gusset will know the style in which I am talking about. These are specifically designed for MMA in my opinion. As a kicker I loved these shorts. They gave me the same range and freedom as my muay thai shorts as well as the fit of my board shorts which I normally wear while grappling.

The nice thing about these are that they are a true fit. I wear a 34 in pants but usually go up to give my legs room to move. I was able to wear the 34 shorts and still be able to kick high. There's also a nice pocket to put your mouthpiece or Ipod, which is very well hidden to make sure things do not get caught during work outs. To top it all off, the shorts are very inexpensive. The quality of these shorts is easily comparable with that of the higher end Tap out shorts and Sprawl shorts, yet these are less expensive.

The Rashguard:

I so wish these came in other colors. The material on these is extra thick and forming. Compared to under armor I would rate these about 2 levels above their basic rashguard. Same quality as a surfing rashguard. Previously, I have only seen this level of quality in rashguards that are $15 more expensive. The length of these are nice as well and fit my taller athletes without rolling up.


Label Design:
I found it comical in an another thread where people didn't like the name or design of the label. I bounced this label off a friend who won't wear certain brands because he hates the labels. (Combat Sport and Revgear). He absolutely loved it. The women at the gym loved it and I showed the clothes to two other fight gyms and they loved it as well.

Sorry this is so late, I have been quite distracted with things and just haven't had time to write out a proper review yet. Overall, I find both the rash guards and shorts to be top notch quality (at least compared to the Sprawl or Tapout brands.

The shorts are true fit, which I generally don't like as much as the elastic waist but are of good material and nicely stitched. The hidden pocket is a nice touch and is a perfect size for a mouthpiece. The rash guard is MUCH better then your typical Under Armor brand. Nice material and just seems to be better quality then what you get elsewhere. Being made in the USA is also real nice to see now a days.

For the price I most definitely recommend them.

Nice review. I actually love the designs for these on the website. No flaming, bleeding skulls or any of that garbage (no offense to people who like that kind of stuff. I just plain hate it)

How are the shorts with dealing with sweat? I hate shorts that start sticking to your legs the moment you get your sweat on. It just feels... awkward...

I'll definitely be checking Rupture out. They look promising.

I have been conversing with Nick quite a lot over the past month.

FYI - He and his company are the real deal. He sent me a HUGE care package full of Rash Guards, T-Shirts, and Shorts to hand out to the fighters in my gym and to ATT proper. Both myself and a number of ATT-Orlando's fighters have run the Rash Guards and Shorts through the training ringer and beat the shit out of them, over, and over, and over again.

I sent Nick a PM regarding my opinion on his gear. I'm just gonna cut and paste that here for everyone else to look at.

The rash guards are very comfortable and actually "wic" away the sweat better than the UA or Sprawl rash guards I own. The shorts are VERY high quality and constructed as well or better than the current Sprawl shorts I own.

The guys who have trained in the gear have said the same thing, unanimously, the Shorts and Rash Guards are bad ass.

Hell, I'm going to train no-gi today and I'm actually disappointed that my Rupture shorts are in the damn wash and I forced to wear the Sinister shorts.....which....in my honest opinion, do not compare.

My Sinister shorts = Last year's Salvation Army overstock.

My Rupture shorts = A brand new Bugatti and a trip to the Autobahn.

i recently got a pair of rupture shorts as well, and as promised, here is my review.

first off, nick was great to deal with and is really attentive to the needs of fighters. it's clear that he is a fighter himself, in both the design of the products, and the way he deals with his customers. more importantly he is a nice guy, with a good business ethic.

the shorts:

the first thing i noticed about the shorts was the quality of the fabric and stitching. these things are not going to fall apart. my wife, who worked for a clothing company a few years back, looked at them and said "wow, these are well made, and really nice fabric." then came the proof that she was really impressed, she didn't give me a hard time for buying new shorts!

so, they passed the first test, because they are a great value and well made, your wife won't get mad at you for buying from rupture. well, not if she's as cool as my wife anyway.

next came the usage test. as everyone else has said, they are really well designed, you can kick high with no problems, and they are comfortable on the ground as well.

overall: by far the best shorts that i have owned. for the record, i own the original sprawl shorts, atama gi shorts, fairtex and twins muay thai shorts, and the original bullshido shorts made by intynse fightwear (which were the only ones i still liked to wear, all the other ones suck for one reason or another.)

I must agree with all of you guys, when it comes to mma clothing Rupture clothing really put togther a very nice package! Quality, Price, attention to detail and best of all customer service.

Ive been competitive in BJJ for the last six yeas and tried all the mma clothing lines that are out there (well almost all! :) Tapout, Warrior, Sinster, Truth, Affliction, etc..... but seems that Rupture really hit the nail on the head.

I ordered some rashguards, affliction style shirts and a pair of shorts and was stunnd when I felt the quality compared to the price that I paid. As soon as my order was complete, I got an email from nick letting me know that my order is packed up and on its way to me.

Keep up the great work Rupture and I really can not wait to wear your gear this year to the IBJJF NO GI tournaments :)

Great to see a review for this compay is up! I would like to add a few comments on this threat.

First of all the Quality to Price ratio that Rupture has to offer is unmatched period! I have been grappling for a long time and have owned a lot of fight gear, TapOut, Warrior, Thruth, Afflitio, Asics but noting can match the quality and attention to detail that Rupture Fightgear has to offer! Add to this that all he product is made in the USA and you have a winning combination.

I purchased a few rashguards, shirts and a pair of shorts. As soon as my ordr was in Nick contacted me that my order was in the mail and ready to go (BTW Nick is great to deal with, NO BS and great customer service!)

I really cannot wait to wear my gear out to the next IBJJF NO GI tournamens!

Tried out my Rupture shorts and long-sleeve rash guard last night in both BJJ and stand-up. There's hardly anything I can add to what others have already said in their reviews, but here's my reaction:

We know Rupture's owners train. That experience is reflected in the quality of their gear.

Their shorts are very durable. They use a drawstring and velcro - not elastic - and they stay in place. These are made to last. Omega is right about the range of motion they afford when kicking. Definitely the best shorts I've ever trained with.

Same goes for the rash guard. I'm 6'4" and around Brock Lesnar's walking weight, though without the chiseled look. The sleeves fit these long arms, and the rest of the guard forms to my, ample, torso. Some rash guards are like body condoms. Rupture guards are thicker, comfortable, do a great job of wicking sweat away, and don't ride up.

I have the large logo red/black rash guard, since they were out of the smaller logo ones when I ordered. I'm glad it turned out this way, because the large logo looks so much better in "real life" than on the computer screen. I'm ordering more.

And, of course, there's Nick. He called me to let me know about the supply issue they had, and to talk about options. I'll say this: his demeanor and professionalism ensured that Rupture got another long-term customer.

Also, the prices is very, very reasonable. Don't think that they cut back on quality to get their prices down.

I have the long sleeve rashguard. I have about 8 rashguards right now. This rashguard is better quality than any of the others, it is more durable, thicker, and longer. It looks great and feels like a second skin.

On top of all of that, this rashguard cost less than any on the market...that I know of.

I will never buy another rashguard from another company. Rupture has the market cornered with these!

Review from a big, picky SOB

I'm a big guy. I'm tall (6'4") and stocky (225lbs). As a result, I have a hard time finding gear that a) fits me and b) lasts more than a month.

Rupture Rashguard

When trying to find the right rashguard, I have to contend with my height. Most rashguards will roll up because they are short and don't cover my ass. If I get a size larger than normal to get some extra length, it won't be a true compression top and the fabric will bunch. I blame my genes; "thanks ancestors".

Other issues are related to materials and quality of craftsmanship. I have compression rashguards from Everlast, Protec, Under Armor, Champion, and a couple no names. I have also worn a Body Glove rash guard and a cycling top as well. All of them have suffered from one or more issues: the material is too flimsy/thin, the length is too short, and/or the cuff stiching has come unravelled. On one of them, the stitching issue crept up after the FIRST FREAKING WASH.

The Rupture rashguard does not have these problems.

The length allows me to pull it down over my ass. When you wear it along with a pair of compression underwear, it will stay in place there will be no wedgies (cotton underwear will 'ride high' as with any longer rashguard).

EVERY seam on the Rupture rashguard is either flat-seam stiched or triple stiched. Over the course of the last 4 days, it has been washed 6 times. There has been no lifting of the stiches nor any fraying.

The material allows for a LOT of movement with little noticeable resistance. The blend of materials makes it a bit thicker than others, but amount of stretch is MORE than my thinner flimsy tops.

I have worn it under my gi without issues. Because it is snug, nobody has grabbed a handful of the material when grabbing my collar. Without a gi, I haven't had issues escape submissions; there was no binding against the skin as is common with some materials.

Without a doubt, this is the highest quality rashguard I have ever worn. I'm going to order 2 more so that I don't have to do the laundry as much (I'm lazy but an obsessively sanitary freak).


Rupture Fight Shorts

As with the rashguard, my frame makes buying shorts an exercise in frustration.

For standard jeans, my waist is a true 35" but my ass/thighs require a VERY loose/relaxed cut 36" or 38". The legs are great for kicking power but make shopping a major pain in the ass (ugh, no pun intended). Needless to say, the fit of shorts when training is incredibly important: if my shorts bind *anywhere*, they will tear (due to my size). At the same time, I can't wear a 38" fight short because the waist would be too loose.

After my wife turned me on to 'stretchy clothing,' it has been a prerequisite in all of my pants/shorts purchases. Until now, I've been 'stretchy' wearing board shorts that I've collected over the years. Some are 38" which don't bind, but I'm lucky if I make it through an entire training session without flashing everyone when they fall to my ankles. Some are 36" waists which are tight around the hips and emphasize the cup I'm wearing, creating a vey awkward scene ("Yes, it is a cup. Not a cod piece. Damnit I hate these shorts").

The 36" Rupture fight shorts fit me perfectly.

I wore them over the past 4 days to 4 no gi classes, 1 sparring class, and when running 3 miles (just for the hell of it).

There was absolutely no binding when kicking. The stretch material provided a LOT of give; I can work in more head kicks without fear of my shorts stopping me short, causing my kick to be caught and me to be dumped on my face.

The mouthpiece pocket is a nice touch, as well as the cotton drawsting and velcro enclosure. It actually felt like I was wearing a piece of technology. That makes the geek in me smile.

I tried on shorts from Tapout, Sprawl, and Warrior as well. There were some good things about each of them, but they just didn't as high of quality (material and craftsmanship) as the Rupture shorts.

For $40, I don't think you can find a better pair of fight shorts. Even further, you might not be able to find a better pair of shorts for $20 more.

Very Nice

Just got my pair of white and black fight shorts in size 34. Like everyone else has said, these shorts are fantastic. The quality is superior and is some of the best I have seen in a long time. The range of motion is perfect for me, nothing snags on the legs while teeps and knees actually feel comfortable and natural in these shorts. I found them to look even better than they are pictured on the website. The mouth guard pocket is super cool too, I'm glad I don't have to stick that guard in the waist line anymore. The shorts fit true to size and have plenty of Velcro and a tie string for any fine adjustments.

I'm very satisfied with this purchase and I'm going to give the rashguard a try soon. Thanks Rupture.
