I've been running into reference to Jiu Jitsu in 1930's detective novels for years. This find fills me with joy and tingles.

On the whole, I think it's pretty good technique -- though unsophisticated -- and no one knows how to fall.

They used to teach this to girls at boarding schools, you know.
