Aranged fight, the Kick boxer has many opurtunities to hit the Aiki guy and did not.
Like at the end he could smack his ribs, insted of hitting the head, that the aiki guy was protecting.
And the jump punch looked like was trying to not actualy land the punch.

The guy in the video is doing Aikibudo, which is slang for Yoseikan-Budo which was created by Minoru Mochizuki.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minoru_Mochizuki With regards to his 8th dan in Judo, that one was from Kano directly. I believe he received his 9th dan in Aikido from Ueshiba and was promoted to 10th dan aikido by Ueshiba's son.

So if if looks like a guy who knows judo going lite, than that shouldnt surprise anyone.

I have someone to introduce you to if you think this stuff is Bullshido.

I wanted to practice my translating skills and do a good thing towards bullshido..

commentator: i will remind you from previous shows we promised to show fights between completely different styles. This way we would like audience to answer the questions they usually ask us, themselves, such as which style is more universal, more substancial, therefor more effective. in last show we talked in depth about two schools of aikibudo and
thai box and now two best fighters will unite in sparring. Let us watch.

commentator: fighter of school aikibudo anton evdakimov who you see uses last minutes before sparring for warm up anton evdakimov : 2nd dan aikibudo, 2nd dan in school of fencing (tensin, suden, etc."i didn't catch that") coach yaroslav serdetsov.
in this fight represents moscow school of aikibudo. motto: first think then act.

representative of moscow school of thai boxing ivan grigoriev warms up and practices strikes and dodges with his coach ivan grigoriev: champion of belarus in thai boxing. champion of the world in thai boxing, coach, elder brother, artem grigoriev. in this
fight he fights for a school kanon. motto: get into a fight and then we'll see.

commentator: the priciples of aikibudo are softness and flexibility, the technique is mostly wrestling. techniques of thai boxing is simple, harsh, maintaining attack.
the only thing we asked of the fighters is not to injure each other, therefore ivan will have to control/restrain himself.

anton: if aikido was weak school it would already dissapear as many weak schools/styles did, only the strong remain. ivan: as i convinced myself aikido doesn't suit me, I just don't like it but I thik i will spar to satisfy my interest/voluntarily.
              We'll see what happens.

commentator: the fight has started. anton tries to do a throw but ivan intercepts it and pushes him to the ground. then ivan tries to finish him with a kick but anton does a pain inducing manuevor, fight could be ended here if anton finished his manuevor.

              time: 0:08
commentator: fighters are again in fighting stances. ivan does a kick in teh head which could send the opponent into ko, but anton blocks it in time.

              time 0:18
commentator:ivan tries tries to fight close combat, but opponent does a manuevor involving joint twist/break. the fight could have ended here as well.

              time 0:24
              commentator:fight continues

              time 0:34
              commentator:34th second into the fight

              time 0:37
commentator:ivan kicks into thigh, anton catches it and grapples him to ground. ivan tries to stop him with elbow strikes but loses his balance and strikes don't get enough force.

              time 0:41
              commentator: another encounter

              time 0:54
commentator: this is a classic combination of thai boxing masters. series of strikes with elbows and right away a roundhouse kick.but anton maintains good distance

              time 1:16
commentator: thai boxes inflicts powerful knee strikes, if ivan didn't suppress their force it would be very hard on anton. however anton manages to captures ivan and pushes him to the ground.

              time 1:18
commentator: both fighters are tired, despite it ivan tries to deliver elbow strikes to anton's head that will knock him out, but anton is in check. In a real fight both of our contenders could numerously finish the fight already because real fight lasts only few seconds. In order to win only one such strike or throw is necessary.

commentator: so you witnessed this fight, who won and whose school is better, you be the judge. maybe some did not get enough entertainment or some of you wanted it to be more real time(assuming without cuts), but we did this on purpose, we didn't want to make a show or fight with no rules. we wanted to show in maximum detail all the nuances of a fight. we guarantee that everything was fair and trustworthy. if you have any suggesting how we can make next fight more telling/more interesting write to us. we would also like to know which school you sided with.

              the end.

I didn't read all pages of comments. But this video is anything but real... It's obviously choreographed and gone through at maybe 15% power. Watch the kicks and knees by the Thai boxer... I've seen handshakes look more damaging.

I have not been able to see said video, so I cannot directly comment on that part of the discussion. I will say that tomiki aikido has long been raked over the coals for doing a competition, which is usually put into the context of "aikido has no competition" because aikido is a different path, one of peace and non violence. Today, that is quite true, but there was a time when it was not that way.

Enter Minoru Mochizuki here. Yes, he was indeed a student of Kano and uchi deshi to Mifune Sensei. He was a student of Funikoshi as well and was sent by Kano to study with Ueshiba. Aiki budo is not a slang term for Yoseikan Budo. Aiki budo, aikijustsu and a few other iterations were used early by Ueshiba to describe his art. In the early days of training, according to what Master Minoru regularly told students, aikido was a very powerful art, closely related in the beginning to daito ryu. Research and discover who Ueshiba's teacher was - Takeda, who often charged Ueshiba per technique he taught him. So in the early days, aiki was aikibujutsu, aikibudo, aikijutsu, etc.

The history of aikido say that Ueshiba Sensei changed after the invasion of China and WW II. After those days, you see his writing and thinking about his art change significantly. Now, add to that the fact that his student, Minoru Mochizuki, introduced aikido to Europe in 1951. Mochizuki came back from that trip and explained to O Sensei that there were many matches where aiki by itself did not work and he had to resort to his judo, karate, and jiujitsu skills.

To finish the though, Yoseikan Budo, the creation of Minoru Mochizuki's son, Hiroo Mochizuki, is a mixed martial art that incorporates karate skills, jiujitsu skills, aiki, judo, kobudo, western boxing and even elements of tai chi and chinese kempo. All together, these are blended into Yoseikan Budo. Master Hiroo Mochizuki was also uchi deshi to Ueshiba and was his student from 1948 until 1963. And, he reached the same conclusion as his father, that aiki alone could not cover all of the situations he experienced.

A final note, the 10th Dan of Minoru Mochizuki was awarded by one of the Martial Arts organizations in Japan, but before he would accept it, Minoru Sensei went to the Ueshiba family and asked if they thought O Sensei would approve. They indicated that they believed he would and then Mochizuki accepted it.
