wait, following your assertion, you're saying Rocky trained at shaolin, afterward?

I hate to dissapoint but I am pretty sure the fist+palm salute = "ming" story is modern day bullshit too. I'll see if I can get a source on it later but I am fairly certain that has been the Chinese extra polite equivalent of shaking hands since like the Tang Dynasty or something like that.

The best kung-fu creed is ilustrated in this buddhist story:

[Chosen One kicks Wimp-Lo in the face. Wimp-Lo does a pose]
Wimp Lo: Ha! Face to foot style, how do you like it?
Chosen One: I'm sure on some planet your style is impressive, but your weak link is: this is Earth.
Wimp Lo: Oh yeah? Then try my nuts to your fist style!

Our kung-fu classes added the Bruce Lee saying to it.

If you touch me I will hit you, if you hit me I'll make you bleed, If you make me bleed I will break your bones, and if you break my bones I will kill you. Life may be precious but yours is the most important.

The greatest Buddhist saying of all time:

"Nothing can shine in your asshole". I forget the source, my ex wife threw it out with the rest of my collection of books on world religions.

    Bitch.

Anyway, the gist of it is that context is everything; and if you have a great idea surrounded by bullshit, it'll be considered bullshit as well.

    then it ends right there.....
