It's like that old saying "Liberals only read liberal publications, conservatives don't read at all"
The contraction for you are is spelled you're.

Please share your definition of liberal and then your definition of conservative.

Functioning relic? Swords, knives and clubs are functioning relics. 1911 is a gift from God. Also what is a modern caliber?

        So sad.
You do not have to kill them all, just the ones in your way.

Yeah, just pretend you are a Jacobite at Killiecrankie Pass, and the zombies are either redcoats or Campbells.

Probably I'd take a Mossberg 590 and a Glock 17, if I owned either of those.

If we're talking firearms we own ourselves I'd take my Mosin Nagant with it's bayonet.

If you are close enough, you can roast the zombie with your muzzle flash , and carve the zombie meat at the same time. Sort of like a post-apocolyptic Thanksgiving, but not quite so Norman Rockwellish.

That's about how close the zombie would have to be for me to hit it with that rifle.

those kinds of gas powered tools use a gas/oil mix that is bad for the bike, and it lasts for a pretty long time.
Stupid answer. Two stroke gas is regular gas with oil mixed in, which means its harder to find additional fuel because you have to find the oil to mix with it too. Forget mix gas chains saws and use the straight gas for something with a four stroke engine.

Next time you are out using a chain saw, go find yourself a branch maybe 4-6 inches wide. Rev the saw and swings at the branch as hard as you can, and see how many seconds it takes for the saw to chew through the branch. Now swing a large machete or axe (sharp of course) at the same branch. Then think of the energy required to lug a chainsaw all over the place, not to mention swinging it around.

Chain saws are too slow in the act of decapitation. If given a choice, take the sword and leave the LOUD and heavy two stroke splatter machine behind.

Oh, and swinging a chainsaw is a shit idea.

Why? Because it's obviously a shit idea.

Swinging a chainsaw is an exponentially more shit idea when compounded with any combination of the following parameters: indoors, in low light, in no light, around other people, when scared shitless, when trying to maintain a low profile (you do, in case you don't know anything about zombie survival).

In a Zombie Apocalypses mobility is paramount. If you fail to stay mobile you will, without a doubt, become lunch.

A chainsaw is too heavy. You need to be thinking about taking a crowbar with the middle 2/3 wrapped in hockey tape for grippiness, even while bloody, or a good machete.

Good thing about a crowbar is it is not only a weapon. You break into places too.

Surely if TV has taught us anything its that the P90 is the perfect weapon for all situations, so I'd have to go for a P90 and two Five-seveN's (gotta go for doule pistol action). And a chrome fire axe. Nothing beats a chrome fire axe. Large motorbike seems to be the way to go as well, something like a BMW R GS Adventure, or a Moto Guzzi Stelvio 4V. Finally movies have taught me that your nothing if you dont have a sawn of double barrel hung on a strap over one shoulder...

a tree branch is not dead meat. the bone part would suck though i guess. still, a knife sure as hell isn't going to be any more effective. there isn't anything else i can think of for instant close-range zombie decapitation besides a sawed-off shotgun blast to the face.

also, you don't need to swing a chainsaw, the blade is already moving. it doesn't need momentum to work, just point the tip at the neck, and push.

i would avoid cramped low-light areas and other people as much as possible anyways. cramped low light places are where the zombies get you. and other people just turn into zombies and get you when you least expect it. if i'm hanging out with anyone, i'm strapping a bomb to their chest that detonates as soon as their heart stops beating for more than a whole second.

Agreed. The HK USP/Mk 23 will NOT outperform a good 1911. It will only carry more, unless theres an extended magazine on the 1911 (I've seen 1911 DRUMS of 75).

A modern caliber for a handgun is a 9mm or .40 S&W, or put into more accurate words, tiny crap for killing mice and midget insurgents.

Actually, I like 9mm for its price and high capacity, but .45 is a better self defense or combat round altogether.
