Hello, I have a little over a half year experience in BJJ and weigh about 130 lbs. The reason I can't ask my instructor this is because my instructor is back in california and I just got out of boot camp a month ago. I am currently looking for a good academy. My question for those of you who are more experienced is, how should I respond when someone tries to turn into me while I'm taking their back from standing.
Let's say I get over under bear hug, or double underhooks, and I'm trying to get to their back to weigh them down and put the anaconda on them (body triangle). Now let's say they either hook their arm around the back of my neck to stop me from getting there, or they keep turning in to face me while I'm trying to get around. Should I abandon and go for something else or is there any way I can bypass that defense?
Thanks guys!
