    KC Throwdown Wrap-up Thread

And so it goes. I just woke up a few hours ago and I'm still a bit sore from yesterday. I'll be processing the videos and pics from the event that I have but there are more coming as everyone gets home. Saturday was a LOOOONG day that started at 8 AM, at least for Scrapper. I didn't get to the school until around 9.

I'll post more on this later, but I wanted to take the time to thank Steve Crawford of Crawford's MMA here in Kansas City, for hosting the event at his school, arguably the best MMA gym in KC and the home of the most dominant fighters in KC.

I'd also like to thank AJJ fighters Jason Teeman, Kirk Mata, Ron "Homicide" Jackson and Duane Lewis for taking part in the event, and Brandon and Sara for letting us watch Hughes vs. Gracie at their place.

Videos will be posted shortly as they're sorted through. Throwdown fists will be awarded to Fatherdog and Locu5, Annatrocity and Scrapper for their sparring in the cage. AnnaT gets the "Shot of the Day" award for KOing someone with a body shot, and KidSpatula wins honorable mention for landing a beautiful head kick on Locu5. It should also be noted that Dai Tenshi/"The Hero" is a squirmy motherfucker and was heel hooking everyone.

    More to come.

Did Dai Tenshi use a cane or a seeing eye dog when he fought?

Rest assured, if you ever stepped up and came to a throwdown he is participating, that he would own you.

                  I didn't say he wouldn't.

Incidently, I'm going to invest in thicker doors, because you look like you could walk through mine.

I would like to thank Locu5 for at least giving me the opportunity to submit myself. Scrapper wasn't as polite.

If by represented you mean I showed up late, hung-over, and was unable to roll for more than a few minutes, then I respond with a resounding yes.

Let this Throwdown be known as the Throwdown of the the Throwup.

Seriously, staying up drinking till 3 the night before you're supposed to be at the gym at 8 for like 5 hours of rolling is stupid. Now, if it had just been one or two people who had done this I would've said nothing, thing is we all did it. Several people puked- hell, the first thing Olorin did when we got there was go to the head and let lose last night's festivities!

Drunken boxing maybe challenging and pretty, but hung over grappling is ugly, brutal, and a true test of testicular fortitude.

I nearly puked on you, Phrost.

That said the worst thing was me gimping my knee up like 40 seconds into sparring with Anna. I injured it like 3 weeks ago, it has steadily gotten better, but sideways motion on that knee still twinges. I take a step in, twist for something or other so it's already torquing, then Anna's kick or step or whatever nudges it just that much further. I tried to switch leads, but ended up having to sit down in disgust and pain. A roll of wrap, my knee brace, 4 pills, and 30 minutes later I was feeling better. I even managed a little bit of rolling from the knees after, but realized while simply showing Prax a bicep cutter that continued activity could only make my day worse.

I wanted to get fisted! WAHWAHWAH!

Now shooting, that was fucking fun ^_^

Great Throwdown all around guys, glad to meet so many of you.
