well, here's one that knew him. what I might do is pray for some of you guys to get a life. Obviously, with more than 3,000 posts, you have nothing worthwhile to do.

Mr. Dexter
This is my first time to this site and I came across it by accident. I would like to thank those of you who did not make light of Mr. Dexter's suicide. I am a former student of his and I can tell you that he was a great guy and a wonderful instructor. He taught not only taekwondo but also grappling, some judo and boxing. He started out in taekwondo when he was younger but recognized the limitations of it as a form of self defense and his teaching reflected that. As a result, the focus of the classes shifted to full contact close quarters combat and some Brazilian JiuJitsu techniques, some of which he learned from the Gracie brothers directly. He was an absolute hulk of a man who could deliver devastating punches and kicks, not to mention joint manipulations that made you wish you weren't there. Despite this power, he had a sense of awareness and self-control that anyone would hope to find in an instructor. In fact, one day he tore his bicipital aponeurosis (the tendon which connects the biceps muscle to the proximal radius) when he pulled a punch while sparring when an unfortunate student had moved his head to a place it shouldn't have been. Unfortunately for me and all who knew him well, clinical depression was more powerful than he, and it eventually won. I am a doctor and I completely understand the callous remarks posted on this page about his suicide, as I too have made them from time to time, especially when I have to do the autopsy. So, I will not act paternalistically to those who commented negatively towards Mr. Dexter. I just wanted you all to know a little more about him and to tell you all that I hope noone you know kills themselves, as it can be painful, especially when it is someone who truly had a lot to offer. I will however, agree with some of the posts in that taekwondo is a little less than practical on many fronts. Most street fights do not take place in the air as the art would suggest. Thanks for reading my post.

That was rather selfish and small-minded if you ask me.

Come on Kungfools, I don't give a shit about this guy, but blaming himself for not thinking about other people when he offed himself is kinda.. strange.
