You know what's awesome? Today there was a football game on TV, and the announcer was saying something to the effect of "Now let us all have a moment of silence for those killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks." And with God as my witness, once he said "September 11th terrorist attacks" everyone just CHEERED and throughout the stadium, several primal YEAH!!s could be heard from fat men wearing green facepaint. Then the band played a snazzy remix of "america the Beautiful" following a totally kickin' reading of the Declaration of Independence, which people also cheered even though the meaning was completely lost on almost everyone there.

I need to hurry up and rent Triumph of the Will.

How could we forget? It's been mentioned on the news every day since it happened.

But yeah, I still remember when I first heard about it. My roommate woke me up to tell me what happened.

Yep, I still remember feeling the roar and concussion of that first plane hitting the tower...lots of other memories that day as well...still look into the pit each day from the office...and am thankful for my good fortunes...and wish everyone else had the same.

I was on my way to fencing training and saw it on the news on the tellie that hung on the wall of the hamburger bar that we ate at before. Of course I feel sorry for those killed in the attacks but they are just the dirt under the soles of how sorry I feel for innocent afghani kids burnt to cinder by daisy cutters and stuff. Fuck americas politics.

Never forget that in the scope of things, the violence going on in the world in general makes the people dying on Sept 11th look like patty cake. At least they died quickly. Try living in the Sudan lately?

Yes it is. And why do you think that is so? Is it their religon that makes them all "crazy"? It seems that fantacism in general makes people like that - look at the rabid US dogs of war.

Islam, much like militant nationalism, provides a simple way to control people and consolidate power. Sad to see US pride and a worthy religon bent and twisted like this.
