But there's a De-La-Riva BB in TA, of which I've heard excellent things.
There's also Ido Pariente who is a BB (I don't know under whom) and he competes both in MMA and BJJ (he was on season 8 of TUF - lost the "get in the house" fight to Efrain Escudero).

There are 2 more in Jerusalem I know of, I think one is a purple and one is a brown who also teaches in TA, could probably find the number if you need it. I'm pretty sure there's one guy who claims to teach BJJ with aikido in Petach-Tikva (but I know nothing about him).

apart from Moshe Kaitz who was mentioned - he's Royce's rep. here.

    That's about it.
We have very very good Judo in Israel if that's something you'd also like to consider, where I do Judo we do a lot of ground work - but it's still Judo oriented ground work.

Hope this helped, if you got anything you need translated or some more info, you can post it here or pm me, no problem, enjoy your trip.

Jean's a great coach but he's gone back to Rio  Catch him in Casquinha's gym.

Also in Jerusalem, there's the Teddy Stadium that has a few MA Programs
One of the best MT coaches in Israel, Beny Cogan, teaches there: +972-52-2555056 (posted with permission)

In Tel Aviv there's Roy Neeman, BJJ black belt from Clube Pitbull. More info here, including his phone number.
I train with him and he's excellent.

As for Jerusalem, 1st off there's the Akban Guys, yeah yeah, ninjers.
Well they really are not your usual ninjers, I trained for a few classes with one of the coaches (they have like 3 in Jerusalem, in different areas, as well as some in TA and other cities), and he's serious, he was on the judo national team, he spent time at renzo's gym in NY and has experience in MT, these guys really work hard, they put a lot of emphasis on fitness as well. The De-La-Riva BB I mentioned is also affiliated with them, serious hard-core people.

    Also in Jerusalem you have:
http://jerusalemjudo.fav.co.il/ - I don't know anything about him, I reached him through the Akban Guys, he teaches Judo, and it wasn't close enough, so I never took a class, from the 2 mails we exchanged he sounds cool enough.

Also there are 2 guys who teach BJJ that I know of in Jerusalem:
http://www.hug.co.il/prod-details.asp?id=14358, I think he's a purple not sure under whom.
And a second Brazilian guy named Jan Azavedo (probably spelled that wrong), I had a phone number, but I probably shouldn't be posting people's numbers online, so get your post count up and PM me, I'll PM it back to you.

Also in Jerusalem, there's the Teddy Stadium that has a few MA Programs (I think, KM for sure, Ninjutsu, Judo, TKD and maybe some other stuff as well) you can call them and ask: http://www.d.co.il/35623030/3315/ (from local yellow pages) - I never went, I lived on the other side of Jerusalem.

Anyway, this was as long and informative as I could muster at the moment, if anybody needs more info, wants me to do some digging in Hebrew online, or just try and ask around feel free.

    P.S.
This was mostly a Jerusalem and TA info post, but I have to plug my Dojo (even though I haven't been in so long, fucking god-damned exams) which is in Hod-Hasharon, It's strictly Judo, but we do a lot of ne-waza. It's run by very possibly the best judo-coach in the country, 7th dan, former national champion, former national team head coach, former Olympian.
Told you I had to plug it.

Have fun in Israel. don't mind the July heat, it gets worse in August :tongue9:.

Hey, just to let you all know, I went to Ido's place for a night and enjoyed the people and the environment. It was a bit more formal than I'm used to, but the talent levels seemed great and the attitudes seemed really solid. I recommend it and wish I could have gone back another night.

This is a convenient thread. I'm going to be in Jerusalem for the month of July and am planning on bringing my Judogi. Do you have any recommendations for Judo clubs in the city?

Yeah, I'm looking for strictly BJJ.

I will definitely check this place out in Tel Aviv http://jja.co.il/ as it is pretty close to me.

And any info you could give me on those gyms in Jerusalem would be great.

    Thanks

I know some guys who train BJJ in this building in north tel aviv on the corner of Hayarkon street and Bnei Dan street on the park next to the bridge. It's near an area called the "namal".

In Raanana there is the Ido Pariente Academy on Ahuza street near the number 2 stop light (the intersection is Ahuza and Shwartz). Taught by Ido Pariente.

In the tel aviv university country club there is a multi-fight club that does BJJ as well if I recall correctly. It's headed by Chaim Peer, founder of Kapap.

    wish I could help more

Hey Danimal, you need to reach a certain number of posts to be able to PM someone, you'll also lose the noob tag.
anyway, I don't practice BJJ but this guy: http://jja.co.il/ is the de-la-riva BB I've heard good things about, he's in TA.
this: http://www.ifbjj.com/ is Ido Pariente's school, which is in Ra'anana.

I'm kinda busy right now, but I'll look up the other places I know later, especially in Jeruasalem.

Is it strictly BJJ you're looking for?

Hey, I am actually going to be in Israel for the next two weeks and I'm looking for a place to train. I tried to just PM you Gidi, but for some reason I can't. (Maybe because this is my first post?) I will be in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Any help, especially with something in Jerusalem, would be much appreciated.
