(school now Closed)Shihan Doug Carducci, Sasori MMA Academy

Well my roommate's fiance is friends with this guy and is considering attending his school, but his website is throwing up some serious red flags for me. From what I can tell, this guy is a blackbelt in ninjutsu only.

    Website: http://www.sasoridojo.com/

    Red Flag #1

White, blue, purple, brown, black... sound familiar?

    Red flag #2

Notice that red stripe on his belt?

    Red flag #5

Something about this just ruffles my feathers for some reason, what's your opinion?

Well, there is someone with a very strange side part in his videos, which is also a definite red flag, and at eight seconds into the third video there appears to be a clip from some strange fetish porn.

No, but really, why is she attending the school? If she just wants something to do or wants to learn stupidly ineffective moves, hell, let her. If she wants to learn how to defend herself or how to throw effective strikes it's probably not going to be her cup of tea. Have you talked to him or his fiancee about it?

EDIT: Pauli beat me to the hair joke.

Well then hell, if she wants to learn Flying Tiger Side Kicks or whatever the hell they're teaching from a guy who apparently idolizes My Chemical Romance, it's her choice, regardless of how stupid it is.

You know what raises a red flag for me? Pretty much anywhere that uses the term "martial science". I've never seen it used by a group that wasn't a black clothes wearing krotty + crappling suckfest.

Also that whole genre of music they chose is just awful. And I love metal, by the way. I don't even know what you call that crap.

It looks like ninjutsu and TKD trying to do MMA.
Which, in all honesty, is still probably better than ninjutsu trying to do ninjutsu.

I only did a few months of no-gi grappling, but I could swear you were supposed to have a whizzer with your left arm for pretty much any no-gi hip throws. I'm going to have to take issue with him talking about "maintaining control" of the arm if he never had control of it to begin with. Also, what the hell is that position they're starting in? Doesn't look like any collar-elbow setup I've ever seen.

One of the worst triangle instructions I've seen, its like a second hand expert village. This guy doesn't know shit about grappling. As far as the ninjitsu goes, it all looks the same shade of shit. Tell your friend to go take Judo, its everywhere and cheap.

you can hip throw somebody quite easily with the grip he was demonstrating. It's his footwork and hip movement that is very questionable, it shows lack of refinement, which usually comes from a severe lack of non compliant training.
and yea the tie up was retarded

                            not sure, lol

I may be jumping to conclusions, but my guess is this guy has been practicing ninjutsu his whole life and recently began watching lots and lots of mma and bjj instructional videos. Now he thinks himself qualified enough to reteach the stuff from the videos to his students. I would be surprised if he's ever actually spent a few months training at a legitimate grappling school.

lol, I just realized if this guy ever finds this thread... I wonder if I'll end up in a gong sau type of situation? We're both in the puget sound area
