I don't know so much about weight training as related to WC. What I can say is that if you're experiencing doubts and want to make a change to your strength training regime, I would suggest focusing on tone. I can't be sure if this is true, so don't take my word as law here, but I heard too much bulk slows you down. I know speed is crucial in WC so if you do higher reps of low weights it might be beneficial. Also, consider throwing in some isometric training. I've heard good things about bullworker devices.

I'm sorry that some people replied to this thread with somewhat rude responses, some of these people have lived so long on this forum where they are just internet personalities that they don't think twice about disrespecting someone. I think this is a good idea for a thread, sadly I don't really have any experiences. Maybe once, when I was studying Bagua under this Chinese master and he said he'd stop my chi in my arm, then he pressed an acupoint (he knew acupuncture) and my arm started tingling. Of course, it was just my blood stopping, but the precise control required was pretty impressive.

weight training and wing chun - No BS MMA and Martial Arts
What Have You Seen??? - No BS MMA and Martial Arts
This is going to be a repository for TheShaolin's musings. As you can see, he doesn't like rude or brash people.

I feel kind of bad for the people in this forum who are legitimately trying to make interesting posts, because other members seem to be continually tearing them down. For example, Mr. Tanuki just made a statement about accepting others' beliefs and was shot down by other posters who are not contributing to the topic.
