Anyway, to end here on a good note, I hope for the best in terms of your knee injury and in time hopefully you can resume training.

He uses strikes and likes to call his system"aikido" Kenpo is what it is, it doesn't need any one person or name to make it effective. By the way, Seagal's technique is not anything he invented, it's called a front snap kick and you can find it any martial arts dojo that utilizes strikes. Also, just for the record, Al Gore did not invent the internet (just messin' with ya there a little) :-).

Ya know something? Maybe it's because I'm old curmudgeonly and cynically cranky , maybe it's because I destroyed my right knee *again* , however *you* , whom leeemmme guess is some where along about Blue , maybe Green coming along here and yapping about Kenpo-Kempo being the be-all end-all is a freaking embarassment to every other Kempo-Kenpo-Kajukenbo practitioner here. Parker didn't invent the front kick , Hiro already pointed that out quite succinctly , nor did Parker really invent Deflecting Hammer or raking Mace. And for what it's worth , the man himself if he was alive would call your ass down for what you've said here already.

Apologies for my nasty attitude , but to paraphrase Omega " shut the f*** up while you're behind.".

And Chuckie Zitto dove across a table in a crowded Manhattan disco , tackled VanDamme and beat him down.

As goes Seagal , perhaps it's a case of him being a victim of his own stardom , the myth destroying the man as it were.

You sound very inexperienced in the arts, and because you've done some kempo, you see kempo everywhere. Anyway, aikido does have strikes (atemi) and the kind of strikes he does are the kind found in aikido too, and its perfectly obvious that Seagal didn't invent the front kick. Its like saying "come on guys, everyone knows that Seagal didn't invent the closed fist strike. Any striking dojo teaches it, especially kempo!!" Although as a pudgy bastard, kempo would also be well suited for Seagal.

The only way he's seeing the edge of that precipice is by looking up.

He'd better do it quick though, before he lands.

I do know that Mr. Segal is very good at what he does but he does not used aikido in his movies, he for the most part uses an American Kenpo technique called "deflecting hammer" or a slight variation which is what you see when he is rushed at by an adversary. This kenpo technique is a basic technique which is the fourth technique that is taught to beginning white belts in preparation for their yellow belt test. I love how folks just oohh and ahhh over his fight scenes :-)
So, you became aware of the effectiveness of Seagal's techniques in MMA and are now trying to claim him for Ke?po? :awyeah:
