Another interview re: music to be found here:
    http://www.steven-seagal.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=7722

He's got lots of guitars that once belonged to famous musicians - and lots of stories about how he came by them.

    Also:

VG- I NOTICE YOU PLAY WITH YOUR FINGERS. WAS THIS THROUGH A CONSCIOUS EFFORT, OR FROM AN INFLUENCE ?
SS- LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT DETROIT BACK IN THOSE DAYS. ALL OF THE GREAT BLUES PLAYERS CAME OUT OF THE DEEP SOUTH OVER ROUTE 23 TO GET AWAY FROM THE COTTON FIELDS AND COAL MINES, AND MANY SETTLED IN MICHIGAN TO WORK IN THE STEEL MILLS IN DUPONT OR PONTIAC OR WHEREVER. I LIVED IN AN ALL-BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD AND ACROSS THE STREET THERE WAS A FAMILY WITH AN OLD MAN WHO WAS GREAT BLUES GUITARIST. AS A KID, I USED TO SIT ON A FOOT STOOL AND WATCH HIM PLAY FOR HOURS. THAT’S WHERE I REALLY STARTED LEARNING. I LEARNED FROM HIM, AND THEN ALBERT KING, GATEMOUTH BROWN, AND ALBERT COLLINS. THEY ALL PLAYED WITH THEIR FINGERS; SO THAT’S HOW I LEARNED TO PLAY. FOR ME, IT’A ALL FINGERS AND THUMB. I NEVER USED A PICK.

Oh My Gawd! Pub Guitarist - as it the Rhythm bloke whose only trusted with the most limited, er, solo.

I also noticed his huge hands - which explains why he'll never threaten Jimmy Page but reading your last item re Seagal living on the fucking porch of BLUESMAN!!! And him a White Boy...

Well, I'm incredulous. What a varied and multi-faceted Life he has led. Reminds me of one of our students who claims to have KO'd a Boxer or Karate Black Belt (probably both) and is a Nuclear Physicist and has something to do with Weapons. He also told me he could get bicycle parts at a discount for me. Yeah, OK. I had long decided he was a Fantasist and when he got 'injured' in a minor Grading, I told the Examiner to ignore it. Anyway, last week I was told he'd informed another student that he actually had 2 PhDs.

Perhaps we can introduce him to Stephen?? They might hit it off...

Final point re his Mum's Death Bed request. "Stephen, why don't you put your Music out there?". It can't be just me that finds that too fantastic for words.

Oh yeah. Did he actually pay the bloke for building the guitar? There's no mention of it. Only that it was the most expensive he had built...

Having a huge Hollywood legend and artist such as Steven Seagal on board is huge for us.
          The made me lol.

Here is video of him talking about how he is a reborn lama.
He also states he is clairvoyant, then pleads for forgiveness for having hurt so many people.

Did you ever read the infamous Vanity Fair article about Seagal?

So Seagul took down the Gambino crime familiy. Nice

Thanks for posting both - I'll check later. I've just got the bootleg of the Led Zep O2 Arena performance and they're blasting out "In My Time Of Dying" - I'm only 2 years behind the times (and only saw the youtube performances this week).

(Anyway, I was going to add to this Seagal Lovefest but, it'll have to wait 'On St Peter at the gates of Heaven, won't you let me in!' - you get the idea). Oops, some slide guitar has just dropped in, give it some Pagey, Seagal may be your Master...

Seagal having a machine gun in his bedroom and bullet-proof windows in his house kinda makes sense now.

I'd actually forgotten about his alleged mafia 'issues' - and his alleged moment of 'Shit! The Cosa Nostra only wanted to be my friends because they *wanted something in return*?' realization (much like Homer Simpson before him)...

"Thunderbox" - yeah, now I remember.

A large number of years ago, a Major I worked for mentioned that he had been the Military Assistant (MA) or Aide de Camp (ADC), you know a General's Gofer' and he said that on military exercise (war games) they were in the Field and had to rig a Thunderbox for the General.

A portable Personal Latrine for the General. No? OK, Personal Sh!t Pit.

I think you get the idea. So, was Sensei Stephen aware showing a previously unknown sense of humour when naming his Band?

                    Maybe not.

                      Roffle.

That may even be slightly funnier than the rumour that a certain Welsh indie band were under the mistaken impression that 'Catatonia' was a state of being similar to 'Nirvana' when deciding upon a band name...

I heard a rumour that Pete Docherty doesn't really exist as a singer, but was an elaborate hoax by the KLF.

                          This too.

This actually charted in the Top20 in the UK.

The distance was a whopping, long distance record shaterring, Carlos Hathcock boner inducing, Simo Haya shaming, Vasilii Zaytsev face palming...

                              ...ten feet.

                              Yeah. Ten feet.:seppuku:

Meh...don't judge him too harshly on that basis. Most encounters with a handgun occur at ranges of 7 yards or less. Most competitive shooters I know (including myself) in the IPSC and IDPA disciplines do most of their practice at around 15-20 feet. Sure, there are exceptions...but reality is its own bitch sometimes. As far are your typical, 50-round police qualification course goes, it's something like: 7 Yards = 26 Rounds 15 Yards = 12 Rounds 25 Yards w/ barricade as support = 12 Rounds. Qualification courses are generally set up on that pattern to approximate the average distances involved in gunfights where law enforcement is involved.

This guy makes a few new ( to me ) rationalisations about aikido training methods and is asking whether Seagull is 'the r@&l'.. i have some time for this guy on the basis of his research on the Ninja although I think he is to forgiving of Hatsumi et al.. Anyway he streches credulity on the 'why you won't see aikido in MMA' front. Apologies if already posted re this discussion, I did a quick search but the Seagull is large on this site.
