BJ Penn's "Live Like A Champion Project"

According to the site, BJ Penn is organizing a one year experiment that will take several martial arts teacher and teach them how to be better at what they do (there is a lot more to this, read the site for more information).

My question is, is anyone attending this, and what are your views on this project?

The cost is $6,000 for the whole year. If you have to pay then it's more a business venture then a self help/community enrichment project.

Hmm...I haven't been following his career that closely, but isn't Penn fairly well known for A) showing up to fights out of shape and chubby and B) being born into a wealthy family so he's never had to hold a day job and can spend as much time training as he likes and C) having such insane natural talent that he got a black belt in BJJ after training literally two years? If this is indeed the case, is Penn really qualified to give you tips on diet and lifestyle that will supposedly make you a champion when he had so much going for him naturally? Seems to me that his success has come mostly from being BJ Penn and not so much any specific formula he can teach others.

Maybe he should have said train like a champion. I'll admit I haven't clicked the link. But I love the way the quick blurb makes it sound like charity or a science eexperiment when it's really just BJ trying to make a buck.

But yeah, this event seemed like a weird thing for BJ to do. I wonder how it'll turn out though.
