    Top Ten Controversial Decisions?

Probably done already, if it has, please give us the links.

We've all seen controversial stoppages, stupid antics and miscellaneous douchbaggery in MMA. So what do you consider your top ten to be?

If you can, provide links cause I am in Australia and I get my fight footage delievered by the monthly kangaroo.

not mma, but the decision for the fight to go another round between masato and buakaw in their first fight (2004 and where buakaw won his first K-1 max title) was probably the single worst call ive ever seen, to the point that it was putting masatos health in serious danger.

Omigawa vs. Hioki at Sengoku 11 this weekend had a bad decision. I say it was bad, because the WINNER (name in spoiler box) criticized the decision.
      Spoiler:
Omigawa was the winner, and he himself thought Hioki won.

Here's a good one: Kazushi Sakuraba vs Kestutis Smirnovas

Reffing like this is why we're going to see poor, brain-damaged, incredibly-awesome Saku die in the ring someday.

EDIT: In a related note, Big John McCarthy made the worst decision of his career when he stopped a Saku fight at UFC's Ultimate Japan in 1996.

The loss was changed to a no contest, and the two fought again in the same night for the championship. Sakuraba won the rematch.

Judges are only human which results in occasional mixed reactions from both fight camps and specatators when decisions go a particular way. Until they simplify the judging we can all expect bad decisions to be integral part of MMA competitions......

Correct me if im wrong, but as I understand it, MMA juding is broken up into four catorgories:

          -Clean Strikes
          -Effective Grappling
          -Octagon Control
          -Effective Aggressiveness

Could that in itself not be simplified to just striking and grappling? A succesful double leg beats a two punch combo? A single strike knock down beats a dominant position ground and pound? Just suggestions.....

          For Judges decsions:

          Bas Rutten vs Kevin Randleman
          Machida vs Shogun
          Bisping vs Hamill

          For Refere Stoppages:

          Ryan Jensen vs Steve Steinbeiss
          Fabricio Werdum Vs. Brandon Vera

The worst judges decision was Simon Cowell putting through Jedward over Lucie

Personally, the worst / weirdest decisions I can think of are (besides Shogun / Machida & Bisping / Hamill).... Wanderlei Silva / Mark Hunt from PRIDE Shockwave 2004 and
Murilo Hua / Quinton Jackson from PRIDE 29 (the decision was so bad that Ninja actually started crying as he left the ring).

You guys are a bunch of whining twats. Get off the Machida/Rua decision already. Any fight which is close and goes to decision you can't argue as bad call.
There are some just outright BS decisions.
Sakuraba vs Silveria 1 is probably the best example.

I don't mean fights where it went to the line and judges scored a controversial win to someone, I was more thinking of controversial stoppages, controversial referee decisions (can't remember the fighters, but I watched one the other night where a dude got punched in the mouth hard which dazed him and his mouthpiece came out, the puncher went to finish him off and the referee got between them and allowed him to clean it off and start again, effectively giving him time to recover which should not have happened, however, he was knocked out within ten seconds of the fight starting again) and even controversial out of octagon/ring antics.

Danny Williams v Konstantin Airich. Watch it on youtube and you'll be amazed - I'd bet my mom that the ref was paid off.

                        Vitor Belfort vs Scott Ferrozo.

Early as shit, just cause he was postured up...it looked better than it was. He came under the arm, and landed a good shot, which made Ferrozo drop to his chest, but he wasn't out...and even before they were seperated, he was trying to fight on.

Long ago, but I still think it was bullshit...find your own damn footage.
