Chicago area input into Bartitsu documentary

The Bartitsu Society is producing a full-length documentary about E.W. Barton-Wright's "New Art of Self Defence" (circa 1900). The documentary will include interviews, rare archival photographs, re-enactments and animations to tell the story of the origin, fall and revival of Bartitsu.

Principal filming has already taken place in Italy, Switzerland and the UK and we are now looking at shooting some re-enactment sequences in the Chicago area.

Can anyone in the Chicago area offer or recommend a supply of about 6 plain white judo gi jackets? The production will arrange to have the jackets picked up, washed and returned, and will probably only need them for one 24 hour period.

We are also looking for martial artists to play two crucial roles in a re-enactment of an early jujitsu vs. English wrestling exhibition match. This sequence will be shot in Chicago within the next month and the shoot will probably take 2-3 hours. Specifically:

Male Asian martial artist, 5'-5'5", aged late teens to early 20s, slender/athletic build, short hair or willing to cut hair short, must have no allergy to stage makeup. Judo, jujitsu or other grappling experience to brown/black belt level a major plus.

Male European martial artist/wrestler, 5'8"-6'+, aged late 20s-40s, muscular/heavy build, short hair or willing to cut hair short, must have no allergy to stage makeup. Judo, jujitsu or wrestling experience a major plus; must be able to breakfall.

Unfortunately we can't offer and financial recompense, but all contributors will receive a screen credit.

talk with tenri judo, tokhon judo, or the Cohen's, though they're more Mundelin than Chicago. Tenri and Tokhon are both Chicago.
