    Hello from England

I am currently in the US Military serving in England. I am an Instructor Level II of the Modern Army Combatives Program and a Phase I Instructor of Keysi Fighting Method. I am here to learn and grow. I have never done the whole forum thing so this is a cherry popper for me.

    Welcome to Bullshido!

As you're in the UK, you might be interested in joining the throwdown group, which aims to keep people updated on UK throwdowns (basically an open mat, if you're unfamiliar with the term). Last one was in Farnborough: if you want to get an idea of what they're like, I've written up the UK throwdowns I've been to here.

Welcome! Whereabouts in England are you based?

I am currently serving in Lincolnshire. I have to say that England has been one of the better places I have been stationed. Though I am told that Germany is better

I'd say they've both got a lot to offer, lingering animosity aside (which I like to think has been largely laid to rest, but then the gutter press never fails to try and drag it back up every World Cup).

Germany, like England, is stuffed with history and great art galleries, not to mention Germany has made an enormous contribution to philosophy, with Hegel, Nietzche, Kant and the like. Then there's all the incredible classical music, with composers like Beethoven and Mozart (though I think Austria claims both of them too: historically its a little awkward, because Germany's borders have changed so often).

Naturally I'm biased, as I live in England, but my mother is German. :icon_wink
