wing chun as i practice and teach it , is with the intent to be combat ready, chi sau is a drill of various concepts found within the 3 forms of wing chun, siu-nim tau, chum kiu, and biu-tze. each form contains its own principles and techniques although basiclly the same each form is unique with its own answer and question to combat, each form teaches the different concepts and principles of energies that is unique to wing chun(yong chun) within the confines of wing chuns forms is freedom for us to express all the variations of total emty hand combat. master yip man did not create chum kiu, nor biu tze this grandmaster knew his wing chun, and knew it well, if you practice as your life depends on it wing chun is a formidable weapon, breaking knees, choking and the breaking of limbs , tearing ears and striking the eyes , wing chun in a real fight is to kill our enemy who wants to do us harm, it is not a pansy patty cake martial art it is to kill. period . chain punches done 1000 times per day creates a mind set of forward intent and the power to destroy the brain of our enemy, with non stop strikes , but wing chun is not about chain punching-- it includes chin-na and throws. it is not a weak fighting art--- perhaps it is the majority of its practiioners that have made wing chun in the eyes of many mma fighter types a pussy art--- its not the style but the person who makes it effective
